Fred sticking with Lyon <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>LYON, France (AFP) - Brazilian striker Fred confirmed Thursday that he intends sticking with six-time French champions Lyon. The unsettled forward had threatened to leave the titleholders unless he was given more first team action, and had been in contact with league rivals Paris St Germain and English Premier League club Tottenham in recent weeks. But he insisted: "I'm staying. I hope to regain my top level and to give the best of myself to the team. "I'm not going to talk about transfers any more. From this moment I'm 100 percent here focused on my work. I know it won't be easy. I've talked to Marino Faccioli (administrative director) and the coach. "I want to stay here at Lyon. There haven't been good offers for me." Fred's Lyon career has been hampered by injury since he joined the club in August 2005. In May last year he sprained his left ankle playing against Paris St Germain then sustained a fracture in his left foot while playing for Brazil in the Copa America. It meant the 24-year-old was sidelined for five months, during which time Karim Benzema forced his way into the first team and has since become the league's top scorer with 13 goals. Fred spent the Christmas holidays in Brazil, returning to Lyon a week late, citing personal problems.</div>
