In an Sports Illustrated poll of 242 NBA players asking them ?€œWhich player gets the least out of the most talent??€?, Vince Carter finished fourth with six percent of the vote (approximately 15 players). Finishing above Carter were the Lakers?€™ Kwame Brown, the Clippers?€™ Tim Thomas and the Knicks?€™ Eddy Curry.

so is rod thorn really that stupid to re-sign that underachiever? ya know what i mean? lets say that is true, that vince is a huge underachiver. so the rest of the league knows that...but rod thorn and nets management all agree to sign him to 60 million? does anyone else get what I am saying?

    its a rhetorical question though

with vince its tough. the talent of kobe but the mindset of a scrub. its very frustrating as a fan of his to see him on this team and in this role . I really just wish his role would be more defined. coming off the bench or the third option behind RJ and boone, a passer, a playmaker.

CLE@NJN when he had 32 points was the perfect role for him. the main offense, the main creator and the team thrived off of it. but it seems far too often this season, he is not involved. but i saw last night in the 1st quarter vs new york that they were looking for him. and as a result, they got their best 1st quarter of teh season.

this is not just a huge vince fan talking. as vince goes, so goes the team. and this season has been half RJ/half Vince...so naturally, we are around .500.

Well he's definitely not the Vinsanity we're used to. I don't know if its age or effort, but it's certainly fair that the players would at least have that perception, regardless of attribution.

Carter doesn't have the will to win. You never know what you're going to get with him each game and its a shame. He should have never been resigned.

Reading that 242 players (40% of players in the league over a season, or at least?) took part in the poll, it shows what guys on the court think of each other. It's not saying Vince Carter is a scrub. They are saying he is talented to the point where they expect more. Fair or not? I'm not sure.

is he a scrub ? no. An underachiever absolutely, I have never understood what a fall this guy's career took, so much talent yet so much stupidity. I mean chucking heat check 3's 2 seconds inton a shot clock not going to the rim, it's almost as if he's too comfortable I for one hope Carter gets traded maybe to NC for Jason Richardson or Emeka who knows, Kidd must cry at night thinking how much wasted talent he plays with. There are 4 guys that play like they care RJ,Kidd, A-51, and Boone after that IDK.

I always thought this was fairly obvious. Carter has all the talent in the world, but has been unable to be a franchise player.

    I agree with BasX.

I think he would probably get Miami or NY into the playoffs if he was traded there. He'll step up his game if he gets traded.

Carter is just a victim from the lofty expectations from his first 3 seasons in the league when the comparisons to Jordan were being thrown around. And of course not being able to live up THOSE kind of expectations Carter gets criticized and hated on even though he actually has turned into a very good player.

    1. Kwame Brown 17%
    2. Tim Thomas 10%
    3. Eddy Curry 7%
    4. Vince Carter 6%
    5. Darko Milicic 5%
    6. Tracy McGrady 4%

They should make a team out of these 6 players.

    C: Kwame Brown
    PF: Eddy Curry
    SF: Tim Thomas
    SG: Vince Carter
PG: Tracy McGrady (The best passer/playmaker for the Rockets)

First big man off the bench: Darko Milicic
Darius Miles and JR Smith come in off the bench as well.

i dunno......... Vince is one of my favorite players but this guy dosnt push his self, when Vince is determined and wants it hes one of the top players in the nba. Now i also think its the offense the nets are running now to. They need to run the offense through Vince when they used to do that Vince carried this team and we did well. Please Vince save us

stop me if I'm going nuts but I really think this would work

    Vince Carter + Nenad Kirstic

    to Charlotte for

Gerald Wallace, Sean May + Emeka Okafor

why ? because NC loves Vinsanity heck Jordan really loves him, Emeka is a FA after this season, and they would also want to get rid of Sean May since injuries are taking a toll on him.

What do you guys think trade deadline little blockbuster move .... potential 1st deal by Kiki

I don't remember but Jordan this offseason was trying to get him to leave NJ, he wanted VC to market him in NC as thier star player IDK how much of the other story was true, because he issued a press release that he would spend what it takes to get the right talent in Charlotte to his fans.

MJ may still have interest in VC, hey it's worth a shot
