Let's say that someone in the Nets' organization actually cared about winning a title. Since they stubbornly refuse to do what is necessary and trade their high-priced players while they still have value, and they foolishly gave one of those players a cumbersome long-term contract, maybe they should grow some stones and at least try to win something. That would take drastic action and a mortgaging of the future at the very least, and even then I'm not sure if it's possible. 1. Would any of these trades be accepted by the other team? 2. Would any of these trades be enough to make the Nets realistic title contenders this season? People in Brooklyn will not buy tickets to see a pathetic losing team with washed up, unmotivated stars. Take that to the bank, Ratner.
Personally I don't like any of those deals... 1) Tracy McGrady is basically a less motivated more injured Vince Carter...NO THANKS. 2) Amare is a nice player but giving up Boone, Swat and RJ would DECIMATE this team. You'd have no bench, no true starting SF and be starting Jason Collins again. 3) This might be a good trade...but I still don't like it. Honestly I don't think we should try to improve the big three due to our lack of salary room and lack of bench...Honestly I think we should trade either RJ or Vince for 2-3 players in hopes of adding depth to our bench.

Remember, the idea is to win a title. If that can't be done with the current players, there's no point in keeping the team together.
Jefferson and Williams would be a enticing package, though I don't think your ownership has plans on breaking the team up. You seem to want to trade your defensive players for offensive ones. Why not go after a two-way player like Andrei Kirilenko or Shawn Marion?
I like the Amare deal. He gets you there now. Boki starts, don't matter who the 5 is with Amare, Collins, Magloire.

He's not going anywhere. Like Michael Jordan & Shaq before him, at times there are such dominate forces in the NBA, you have to lower expectations. Getting out of 2nd round of the playoffs would be a good goal, one this team should be proud of. -Petey
After looking back at the responses, not sure the Nets have enough depth to make up for the injury prone McGrady. -Petey

Kidd's window hasn't closed as he is still capable of leading a team to a championship. Rather, the team has been poorly constructed around him. There may be some better individual players, but the sum of the players is worse.

JCN is Gasol's best friend. He would have to be in any Gasol deal and the Grizzlies would need to be well compensated for him since they gave up a decent amount to get him
