Nash and Kidd get player votes as ideal teammate
January 19, 2008, 5:37 pm Steve Nash and Jason Kidd face each other Sunday in Phoenix but they’ve already faced off in a Sports Illustrated poll of NBA players that asked, “Which player on an opposing team would you most like to play with?” Nash finished first with 31%. Kidd was next with 17% (about 37 players out of 216). Kevin Garnett and Lebron James were the only other players named by at least 20 players. Both had 9% or 20 players.

Suck on that Baron Davis, Chris Paul, Deron Williams, and Tony Parker

It's more of the "you pass to me" type votes.

The title mislead me. I thought it meant Kidd and Nash as ideal teammates, meaning them both being on the same team.

There really isn't much to say. You see these guys play, they are great point guards, so why wouldn't you want to play with them?

Because you're hung up on Tony Parker's jock (and probably broadcast national televised games :/)

Well Nash gets plenty of hype. It's Kidd who is rarely talked about...probably because of the sub .500 record.

I do know that Charles Barkley is a big fan of Kidd. But I guess you can't win them all?

It's kind of everywhere, heh even Mark Jackson is as much to blame. I'm just kind of sick of Tony Parker being crowned a god when he's so one-dimensional; I feel that he's never analyzed as an individual, but rather gets the benefit of playing on a great roster. Deron Williams is good, but I feel that part of his hype comes from the fact that he's a young player.

    Of course knowing that
    1) How one is analyzed isn't necessarily what makes them a great teammate
    2) I meant "you" in the general sense, not that you, Kidd, looooves Tony Parker [IMG]

I was a bit upset when he took some shots at Kidd during the game. Apparently he thinks that Kidd is just a fill-in for the Eastern Conference All-Star squad. He believes that Jason doesn't deserve to be an All-Star but since there isn't anyone better in the East, they just throw him in the game.

Even Marv Albert was a bit dazed by some of his comments.

Don't worry, I understood what you meant.

Yeah that whole exchange was weird. Part of me felt that Jackson said what he did to achieve some consistency with his picks for PG during the ESPN games, and then spent the next 5 minutes trying to justify it to the Nets audience.
