Regardless of what happens the rest of the season, Mick Cronin should win BE Coach of the Year after getting UC to a 4-2 start in conference with wins at Louisville and over ranked team Nova and Pitt. Just a few days after Pitt wiped the floor with Georgetown and UC gave up a game's worth of points in the second half to Notre Dame, Cronin came up with a game plan to beat Pitt. It wasn't that long ago that I was so frustrated with the progression of this UC team that I told KC over AIM "they all suck" in response to him asking who the best player on UC is. Mick has gotten the Freshman to learn how to play smart basketball and to get them to deliver in the game. Tonight, Rashad Bishop hit a huge 3 at the end of the the first half to bring the Bearcats within 1 and then blocked Pitt's final good look at a 3. I had very modest goals for the Bearcats this season, and that was to win enough games to make the Big East Tournament as only the top 12 teams make it. Now, not only do I want to see that happen, which it should, but I want to see them continue to defend home court in conference play and see if they can't steal another game or two on the road.
