<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (J-HoAgZ @ Jan 20 2008, 11:19 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I love SWat and J-Biz but we do need more frontcourt production to be an elite team. I have no problem with playing a small line-up and just running the floor non-stop but we aren't really doing that. Either have a solid frontcourt and give them the rock or go with a small line-up. Heres Boston and Detroit's Frontcourt production compared to ours.. (Just starting PF & C). Boston - 26.1pts 15.4reb Detroit - 22.3pts 15.6reb Jersey - 14.5pts 11.9reb</div> Now go back 15 games and give me more relevant numbers. That's about when Boone and Williams started.
actually forget it it will take forever to average everything together.. lets just wait till Krstic comes back before we make any trades
Umm you can say Boone and Williams will get us no where all you want but then your not evaluating potential. Boone in my eyes will always be more of a hustle guy. I'd love for him to develope some kind of post move, and hopefully thats what happens in the off season, but he can consistantly be a 10-10 guy. Williams however has loads of offensive potential. Im not overrating and saying hes the greatest thing since sliced bread at the moment, but dude gets up, plays de, and has the potential to hit his jump shots. He occasionally throws some nice moves out there, or finishes with the left.
Lets's not forget that without vince, sean williams and josh boone may not get the good looks that they've been getting.
Why are you comparing our front court to the Celtics? They have a future hall-of-famer. Not a fair comparison if you ask me. And Boone and Sean's combined average stats in January: 19.4 ppg 16.1 rpg 3 bpg

If Jermaine of 4 years ago came across, then hey Id be really keen.... But to be brutally honest the guy has very little left in the tank. He no longer has the athletism to push his game over the top. If we traded for him Id also consider letting the team go. Id want at least a first rounder or for the trade to somehow include Mike Dunleavey (really) since he has had a massive season so far. Jermaine would be a salary dump for Bird and Thorn would have to treat it accordingly.
Seeing as how O'neal is currently injured; I'm definitely not happy about such a deal. We take an even higher risk by trading for Jermaine rather than Shaq, at least at this point of the season.

He's going to be a Magloire and think that he should get easy shots.</div> to bad he's quicker and more athletic then magloire. you guys have problems. if we trade Vc and Marcus, we'd still get to keep Sean and Boone along with krstic. I'd rather have Boone, Sean, JON, and Krstic over some soft european like Gasol </div> Do you have a required number of posts here? Does someone pay you to post a certain number? Your analysis is just plain dumb and your grasp of the facts non-existent. JON said two days ago that he cannot play and practice and he does anticipate being able to do both THIS SEASON. He said this is the worst he has ever felt, that he did not anticipate how difficult this would be. We are not talking microfracture or torn ACL here. This was supposed to be minor knee surgery. Don't know if you saw Bynum go around around JON repeatedly in his career best game two weeks ago. JON could not move. He is no longer quick...and he is owed more over the next two years than Shaq is. Shaq is owed $40 million. JON is owed $44 million. He has a player option this July and he has said he will opt out. If he does--and is not immediately committed to a mental institution as a result, then the Nets would have to negotiate a longer term deal with him. No thanks. As Tim Capstraw said recently, he may only be 29 but he is an old 29 with a lot of wear and tear on those legs. Meanwhile, Josh Boone and Sean Williams look like they will continue to improve. The only saving grace of this losing streak is watching them improve GAME by GAME. Boone is averaging 13.3 points, 12.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks the last four games. Williams is averaging 9.3, 6.8 and 2.8. Both of them have shown a level of mental toughness I was unaware either had. Williams gets blocked by Kaman and doesn't let it bother him. Boone same thing...does an excellent job defending him. Next week we will have an idea of what Krstic can do. Those three guys are 23, 21, and 24. Combined, they don't make one fifth of what JON makes. Iannazzone has been pushing the JON stuff for months and if you read his posts closely, there are enough caveats in there to make it a non-story. Wudda, cudda, shudda, maybe. </div> how many times do we have to go over this, sean and boone are not going to get you anywhere. They both only rely on dunks and shots 2 ft. in, the Nets offense will always be that way until they add a big man who can score. JON has been playing well of late as well. whatever, this is just getting to redundant. if we do make the playoofs, the GREAT teams like Boston and Detroit will simply sag off Boone and Sean and they'll be left open with no idea what to do. </div> If you've watched Williams, he is slowly developing a potentially good offensive repetoire (that is already light years ahead of Boone's, unfortunately). I firmly believe that he'll be a capable offensive player by his third year. I like the core we are developping. I don't really believe we may win much with the Big 3 anymore, but I'm trying to enjoy it while it lasts, and I'm concentrating more on how are young core is growing up, and it's exciting. I think Marcus, Boone, Sean, and Nenad pose for a good future.
it would be a terrible move to obtain JO. he's too injury prone, and as everyone else have said, more than likely is running low on gas. marcus played GREAT last night. maybe it was luck, or perhaps it was the fact that lucas brought out his confidence. needless to say, I'd love to see more of that production from marcus, especially since kidd will need more rest. him playing the entire 2nd wasn't a showcase; kidd was to come back in, but he himself decided to go back to the bench and let marcus ride it out because he was doing so good. if we give up VC, then we will REALLY be in "need a damn good shooter" trouble. and as others have pointed out, sean and boone may not get those good looks like they've been getting. if this trade were to happen, it is my estimation that managment has made the 2nd worst move of the kidd era. (1st being getting rid of k-mart) . and, essentially, will be putting the nets into a deep hole and we wouldn't even make the playoffs.
What would I do if we did that deal....? hmmm.... 1. Place gun to head. 2. Pull trigger. 3. ??? 4. Profit!
wait a minute there are actually people that think this deal shouldn't be done ?...... Jermaine O'neal can score from the post, is a good trade chip, now I wouldn't give Indy any kids other than maybe Boki Nachbar but that's it. I'd do VC for J.O. straight up any day of the week ! Kiki isn't giving Marcus away, or Boone or Sean certainly not for J.O.

Forget O'Neal, Let's try to get Kaman!!! <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (NetIncome @ Jan 20 2008, 11:21 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Now go back 15 games and give me more relevant numbers. That's about when Boone and Williams started.</div> How about 8-7..?
