He's opting out guys!!! Any chance at sigining him for 9 M? (add the fact that the lakers ARE a championship caliber team, do you think he would be interested?)

    Via S & T maybe?

    Fisher/Kobe/Artest/Odom/Bynum = 2009 NBA Champs!!!

    Thoughts?

Will you guys have nine mil this off-season?

I don't think the OP (original poster) understands that Kwame's expiring contract doesn't mean that we'll have 9 million to spend at the end of the year. Either way, we'll still be over the salary cap I believe, you can check but I'm almost positive that's the case.

Artest is still out with surgery, right? Is he back, yet? If not, when is he due back?

We can't trade Kwame, period. He is too valuable to this team as a big body. We won't have a legit big man if he is traded.

Erm maybe Bynum, Mihm and a whole lot of luck could work it for us... LOL

Artest is back and has played in the kings last 2 games

Who would you trade for Artest? And how much should the Lakers be willing to pay for him?

Artest should come rather easy, as he is opting out of his contract at the end of the year. I wouldn't give up any of our main pieces to get him, honestly. Actually, I don't even know if I want him.

We've got a logjam at SF what we need is a true power forward or a back up center, if we can't acquire one of those with a package involving Kwame's expiring $9 million, then I don't want to trade him.

I thought we already offered a package earlier of Kwame Brown and Jordan Farmar for Ron Artest? Didn't the Kings turn us down or something? Anyways, I doubt the Kings trade with us. They hate us. They will never help us get better

Would you do an Artest for Odom swap?

In a heartbeat. I'd rather try to get Marion more though.

Trading Kwame for Artest would be a horrendous move at this point. I realize that Kwame isn't exactly all star material, but we need big bodies and he certainly is one of them. The only way I'd ever trade Kwame at this point is if we get another solid big back, otherwise, he's far too valuable to us at this point.
