as for Carter, it's a sin to play like he does. he can go to the line at will only if he drives to the basket. how silly or disinterested should player be if he sees what he can do by being aggressive and not actually doing that... I'm sorry Vince, i'm giving up on you. I don't believe we're one piece (unless it's a coach) away from being contenders. Thorn, either rebuild or do something to win, to compete goddamnit!!!
Some bright spots: Well, the Nets did outscore the Suns in the 2nd Q, 25 to 21. Boki in 16 minutes hit 4 of 6 shots, and 2 of 3 3-pointers. Jason Collins only played 1 min 31 seconds. Sean Williams was 6-8 FG/FGA.
as for Sean, he's got schooled by Amare. but, maybe it's for the best, as Sean, hopefully, learns something from this experience.
Just got back from the game, here are my thoughts: 1) The Izod Center is a complete embarrassment to the United Airways Center. I mean my god there wasn't a bad seat in the house, and everything was so clean and modern. Brooklyn is going to make going to Nets games 100000% better. 2) Vince Carter was just horrible. He had to grind through 4 quarters to score 10, are you kidding me? 3) Josh Boone keeps growing up day-by-day. 4) Sean got rocked tonight, and that really didn't make it any easier on me, the only guy in the building wearing a #51. Luckily he handled it well: since that point he rejected a couple of Amare's shots. 5) Speaking of which, I don't know why Frank fell in love with playing Antoine who seemed like a complete egg. I think he sat Sean down for the entire 2nd quarter. I mean, its not like Antoine was shutting anyone down. 6) It just amazes me how deep the Suns are. Barbosa, Diaw...it was just really ridiculous to see the Nets battle between 11 and 20 point deficits only to then see Nash, Amare, and Marion check back into the game. 7) At least Phoenix drives don't have shit on a New Jersey driver. haha at least we tore out of the parking garage fast enough...

Vince Carter is my favorite player, but I have given up on him also. He just doesn't have the determination to play like a Lebron or a Kobe. He doesn't give a ****. He made a fool of Thorn by hustling him and getting tons of money to take jump shots.

VC seems to be a majority of this boards scapegoat, there is plenty of blame to go around, Carter's lack luster play, Kidd and his turnovers, the teams over all lack of energy , the coaching, the offense is putrid the defense is non existent. There is so much that has gone wrong with this team that was expected to be A LOT better than what we've seen as of late, I know I mean Thorn has to be thinking about making some type of move a roster shake up or a coaching change , He can not sit there and say that he is just only looking at the players he has to be looking at the coaching as well, if this team goes 0 for this west coast trip something is going to happen

Carter has made clutch plays down the stretch of games this season which have helped the Nets pull out atleast 3 wins vs the Heat, Warriors and Bucks. With Marcus out, Carter was the only other reliable playmaker on this team beside Kidd. And along with Jefferson they have been the most reliable scorers for this team. So quit your BS that Carter hasn't done anything positive this season. And in the last year or so, all the Big 3 have been rumoured in trade speculation.

This guy is being paid over 60 million, and all we're getting from him is a few games where he actually decides to come and play. What about those other 20 games where he completely disappears in important stages of the game, if not the whole game. What is he good for then? You mention him being a reliable playmaker, that's great. Oddly enough, last time I checked, we signed him to be a scorer. I call it the way I see it. He isn't doing his job. And I really appreciate you questioning whether I watch games or not, as well as you wanting me to "quit" my bullshit. That really solidifies your post, doesn't it?

You call it the way you see it? Are you blind then? To help point out the stupidity of your statement that Carter hasn't done anything positive this season I picked 3 examples of where Carter made CLUTCH PLAYS late in games to help seal victories for the Nets. Carter has obviously had more than a few good games this season but you continue to make false and completely exaggerated comments trashing Carter. And Carter is a play maker AND scorer. He has done both well this season and with Marcus injured had to take more of a role being playmaker when Kidd went to the bench.
Quite honestly, this is pointless. You clearly won't back off on your opinion on Carter, and I most certainly won't either. You see him as great performer for the Nets this season, and I really don't. That's the way it is.

I think he has played well and is not the problem for the Nets troubles, but he could be part of the solution to turn the season around. You on the other hand seem to want to make clearly wrong and misleading comments trying to smear Carter about this play and effort and such and I'm responding to that. It's funny though how Carter thought by having other star players and team leaders around that they all could share the burden in troubled times but yet Carter is still the magnet for the most criticism and scorn regardless.

And I'm not only talking about this season. I have seen plenty of stretches where Carter decided to be passive on offense. We needed to put points on the board, and he is no where to be found. That's my problem with him.

I agree that Carter hasn't been as good as last year, but he is still doing a good job. There are nights where he was more important than RJ or Kidd. I think NOMAM is just frustrated that you will judge Carter night and day, RJ you'll judge once in a while, and you must've signed a death pact with J-Kidd not to say anything about his bad games lol.
