I only care about Vince Carter, f**k the rest of the team. I really wish they would ship him out because he's getting older and he's not going to win anything with this horrible franchise.

Prediction: Nets are going to lose tonight becuase Lawrence Frank wants RJ to be the man.

ah come on man. you give VC fans a bad name. I too am a life-long Vince Carter fan, but I really do have an emotional connection with this team. When they lose, I cant sleep and I feel depressed the next day. I really just think that the team plays better when he is 'the man' and this year, they are treating him like hes just one of the guys. Only a couple games this year did they give him the ball and let him create, and I think I can speak for all Nets fans when I say that the win CLE@NJN was one of our best all year, and Vince was the driving force behind it.

Its easy to sit from afar, and see vince score 10 points and say he doesnt care about the team and he is lazy and a money grubbing what-no, it is what TO media/fans think to. But for those who know Vince, and have followed him through his whole career, been through the best of times and the worst, we know him better than that. He is not the kind of player to do that. He respects the game too much and he would "never disrespect the game" by "not trying." He is very much of an enigma at times. He has the talent to match Kobe but not the play style. He does not have the killer instinct all the time, hardly ever these past years. But when it comes down to it, the nets play their best basketball when Vince is playing on his game and is 'the guy' on this team.

I am not a negative guy. I try to stay optimistic because whenever I find myself bashing players and being negative, my real life gets pretty depressing too. So I am just asking that us Nets fans stick together and stop this bickering and just "all get along".

Poke fun if you want, but I am just speaking my mind here. I love the Nets, I love VC and I love winning. I just hope they can put all of those together and soon. Winning cures everything.

    Peace

Now I'm a bit curious. When he was traded to the Nets, didn't he admit not trying in Toronto? Or was that just McGrady?

He did appear in an interview on TNT and it was edited to make it look like he said "at times, no" when asked did you always try. It was obviously edited.

Afterwards, John Thomson called Vince and apologized for how they did that.

Later, with Ahmad, Ahmad mentioned that and vince said "the power of editing"

All Star Weekend 2005, the TO media asked him about that, and he said what I said "anyone who knows me knows that I would never disrespect the game like that"

I have seen every Vince game since the 2002-2003 season, and in those last 15 or so games, I felt he still had all the talent and wanting to win, in fact, he got them off to their best start at 3-0. But the team knew he was on his way out and they wanted to develop their young guys so in most games, they benched him. I went to one of his last games live and saw him arguing with SMitch to let him keep playing. It also happened the next night in LA vs the Clippers. So of course, I do not see that he "didnt try" and all that stuff. He actually had a handful of great games in his last 15 or so games with TO, including a game winner and a lot of yelling/emotional shots.
