The Bulls could try to acquire another interior defender. New Jersey's Jason Collins isn't bad, and his $6 million salary is thought to be available. Dallas' DeSagana Diop will be a free agent this summer, but it likely would take more than the midlevel exception to pry him away from Mark Cuban. http://www.dailyherald.com/story/?id=117751.
If its for a nobody I would just rather wait for next year when his contract will really be valuable.
haha damn. You know the season is really going downhill when Jason Collins is the hot name in trade rumors.

Collins for Deng! haha. Any chance we could pry Duhon from 'em? Or even Thabo. That'd be pretty cool.
Looks like this is the writer's idea, not the front office. But it would be nice if we can get a 2nd rounder.......thus letting the rebuild begin. Move Kidd, VC and RJ. Build around the Williams, Boone and the prospects we get for the Big 3.

I don't see us being able to work something out with the Bulls, so with that in mind, I think this is as close as we can get.
The guy has more PF+TO than he does REB+PTS+AST+STL+BLK combined. $6M is way too much to pay for a guy meant to hack Shaq (or Ben Wallace) 6 times and call it a night.
The bulls aren't interested in Collins. The article is by Bulls beat writer Mike McGraw (who's a good guy, btw). He's suggesting that a trade for Pau Gasol would cost the Bulls too much in salary (which is a flawed argument) and that their real need is a defensive minded inside presence. Collins was mentioned as a possibility to fill that role, though there's absolutely zero indication the Bulls officially want to go in that direction.
Bulls are looking to get rid of Wallaces contract. Ben Wallace Aaron Gray for Jason Collins Jamaal Magloire Bostjan Nachbar Bulls get expiring and a cheaper version of Ben Wallace while we get post defense and also someone to throw in the mix for the future. Heck, throw in a first even.

I'd rather get Big Ben plus a pick for all three rather than Ben and Gray.
