<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Raptors are considering bringing in some extra coaching help for struggling centre Andrea Bargnani, who has not shown any signs that he is ready to break out of a sophomore slump. GM Bryan Colangelo said that the Raptors have discussed the idea of bringing in a coach to specifically help Bargnani get used to, and learn the nuances of, playing the centre position. The 7-foot Italian was moved to centre this season after a fine rookie campaign last year at forward. -- Toronto Sun</div>
I see this working wonders for Bargnani, and I really think Mitchell reiterating his saying that defense is better than scoring is a terrible thing for a coach to tell Bargnani, especially when it was his scoring that helped us win games last year. Obviously Bargnani must feel irrelevant and his lack of production on scoring shows that he has lost confidence in Mitchell to help him as well. Bargnani is a good shooter, but Mitchell has really come down a bit too hard on Bargnani the moment that he picks up two quick fouls in almost every game that he starts in the first quarter. We all know Bargs is better than this. He isn't a bust as to what everybody else is thinking. For heaven's sake, why play Bargnani as a Center when his real position is at power forward. Mitchell needs to get fired.
This is an old solution. Defense is lacking? Bring in Gene Keady. Shooting is inconsistent? Bring in Dave Holpa. I don't think anybody is going to come in and turn Mago into a defensive monster. We should just let him play to his strengths and send him to Pete Newell every summer.
