My trainer is 64 years old and has been a high profile trainer in my area for 38 years. He is also a HUGE Laker fan, he claims since Jerry West. He believes the problem with some bigs in all sports is there training routine. Athletes, like Kwame Brown, are too concerned with lifting heavy, and getting bulky. Just look at Jordan Farmar, last year he was a whole lot muscular than he is now, and he wasn't near effective. Kwame needs to lose muscle weight, and he needs to do it by doing such cardioi exercises such as yoga, boxing, or a martial art, which is a lot easier on your knees than running. He will be more mobile and quicker if he does this. Kwame Brown has the athleticism, and he has the strength. Yoga and cardio is proven to create better coordination and even self-confidence. What I'm getting at is: A)Have Kwame Brown train with Farmar's trainer in the off-season B)Get Horace Grant in LA and have him train Kwame If Kwame truly wants to get better in the off-season and does these two things, I think we will see a much different Kwame Brown next year, one that is much more similar to the prospect that he was supposed to become.
He's absolutely right. Farmar is a great example and another one is KG. Farmar said he started doing Yoga during the summer and is flexible enough to where he doesn't need to tape his ankles anymore. He said he doesn't lift weights anymore and only lifts his own body weight with various push ups and other techniques. KG has been doing Yoga for a long time now and has never had a serious injury. The problem is I don't think Kwame wants to improve and tap into his potential. He's been in the league a long time now and is still a mess on the court. Bynum only worked out hard for one summer and look at the results. If Kwame dedicated himself his entire career to his profession he would be doing things that Dwight Howard is doing for Orlando.
I could've told you that. His years in Washington, that's what he focused on. He was pretty good and taking some positive steps until he broke his foot in a pickup game one summer, that's when he hit the weights and threw everything off.
