Those guys are definitely better than Marcus. Hell, Johnny Flynn is better than Marcus, and he's at the bottom of that list (Haven't seen Maynor at all, so I wouldn't know about him). He can shoot better, pass better, and even defend better (which isn't saying much). Really, if this trade went through, I'd probably have to change the pants I'm not wearing.

Now because MW has a few bad games and is getting inconsistant play you want to run him out. Think this 6 - 17 from 3 PT since he's returned, a zone breaker, like I said he just needs a better coach. that's what your trading
Overpaid or not, Noc is exactly the kick in the pants the Nets need now. Combine that we'd be getting Thabo in the deal, and this on surface looks to be a nice screwjob of Jim Paxson on the part of Rod Thorn.

I think Billups finally got his chance in Minny, then with the confidence of PT, he took off. I think that's hurting Williams right now, he's looking over his shoulder all the time, afraid to make a mistake. I think if you tell Marcus, you get 3 minutes at the end of the 1st/3rd quarters and 4 minutes at the beginning of the 2nd and 4th quarters, regardless, he will be much more productive and show more consistency. Billups didn't really take off until he got consistent PT. When you break in, under Pitino....your confidence level will be shattered after a mistake or 2.

The numbers are really tricky on this trade...Its a no brainer though. Chicago wants to clear cap? Thats fine. Noc and Thabo would be GREAT bench players for us...this year's draft is loaded with PGs anyway. However if they do decide to come after Carter then let them...I'd rather have Gordon, Noc and Thabo over Carter, and our expiring contracts.
I believe that Marcus will be a guy who can get you 16/7, but thats down the road. We're giving that up for Nocioni and Thabo, and getting rid of Team Disappointment. I've got to believe that the Bulls are hesitating, because if they weren't this deal would have gone through already.

I think Chicago would like to do this trade...they want cap space ASAP and we have expiring contracts. If anything is holding up the deal I think it would be Ratner's reluctance to go over the luxury tax and working the numbers. Noc is a begining year contract so he is difficult to trade moneywise. I'm hoping we try to make this deal larger and try to send Carter to Chicago and grab Gordon, Joe Smith and Chris Duhon. Send them Carter, Williams, Wright, Boki and Magliore for Gordon, Smith, Duhon, Noc and Thabo...that be a hell of a trade.
