It would also be a great deal for us.
Vince Carter is 31 with 4 more years on a crazy deal...if we wait past this year it will only be more difficult to trade. Antione, Boki, and Magliore aren't really helping this team this year and will most likely be gone after this season anyway. Marcus is a solid prospect but this years draft is loaded at PG.

Ben Gordon would be a great player on this team...he is an excellent perimeter player with a better jumper than anyone on our team, Noc could be a sixth man and major scoring threat over the next few years. Duhon would be an improvement over Armstrong and Williams as a backup PG for Kidd, Thabo would be a 7th man scoring threat and Joe Smith would be an excellent option at PF with Nenad off the bench.

    PG: Kidd, Duhon
    SG: Gordon, Thabo
    SF: RJ, Noc
    PF: Swat, Joe Smith
    C: Boone, Nenad, Collins

That is a better, more balanced, younger and overall deeper team.

<span style="color:#FF0000">*note...I would still love Tyrus Thomas or a first as well but I'm a realist and not that greedy*</span>

When and if Pax turns down offer already made-

    Sefolosha for Wright
    T. Thomas for Magloire

Even just combine those two trades. Whatever Paxson will take.

Well if we keep the Devils scoring light up, we can turn that on and help him create the fast break.

Well, he'd immediately become the best shooter on the team.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>A reported discussion between the Nets and Chicago involving Andres Nocioni was dismissed as inoperative by both sides yesterday. Two reasons: Nocioni is a base-year compensation player, which means only half his $8.5 million salary could be brought back in trade, which means the Nets can only send about $4.25 million back to the Bulls; and the Bulls had zero interest ("It sounds like fan trade," one official cracked) in what the Nets were offering.

More to the point, the Nets seem "paralyzed" right now, which is how one general manager described their personnel situation yesterday.

"I have no doubt Rod would love to make a move at this point," said the GM, who requested anonymity so as not to meddle in Thorn's affairs, "but I think he's seeing that their players don't really have big (trade) value. People like their young bigs (Sean Williams and Josh Boone), but very few teams would take the others, including the Big 3, because of their contracts."

For the third straight day, Thorn reiterated yesterday that "we aren't close at all to doing anything," and that he and Kiki Vandeweghe have spoken to every team in the league in the past two weeks.</div>

That's why we need to trade Kidd and Carter now...they are only going to diminish in value as every day passes.

This team has painted itself into a corner and is basically screwed. The Carter signing looks extremely dumb right now. What is his already diminishing game going to look like in 2-3 years? He'll be screaming at the top of his lungs for foul calls.

If they lose to Minny (who beat the Suns last night, btw) and end up going 0-6 or 1-5 on this road trip it will be interesting to see what the team and management have to say. They gotta do something if that happens.

They really should have just done Kidd & Boone for Devin Harris, Dampier & Stackhouse. That would have worked and Dallas probably would have done that earlier in the year, before Harris really started playing well. Harris is going to be a good pg for many more years.

goddamn it. Well at least I don't have to worry about blowing up the team (even though after every loss that option becomes more and more appealing)
