You're at about where I am, maybe a little further. I got sidetracked with Brucie's* missions. I just ran like hell to get out of the old hospital and found a Bobcat on the lawn and took off in it. Took me a few minutes to escape the cops. Look for long stretches of road and blast down them, eventually you'll get out of their zone. * Brucie is f'ing hilarious.

Wow, I'm not even close to being as far as you guys. I'm just now getting around to Faustin's missions, I think I've done two so far.
!!SPOILER ALERT!! I'm currently up to working with the Irish family (Gerry is a crazy bastard). I agree that the driving takes some getting used to at first, but now I'm just blazing down roads. The real deal is to master the hand brake for easy turns when driving super fast attempting to escape from the cops. Whatever you guys do, don't use the wanted level cheats. When there, find the underground subway system and hide out down there. Eventually the star level goes down to three and you should be able to resurface with no issue and escape by jacking a car. Also for the strip club, just start at the front with the manager counting money and let guys come to you while you wait in the room. Most of the regular security guards do come and they just walk in for an easy shotgun blast to death. Afterwards, just run while crouching and kill anyone on your level. When done, move to cover and kill everyone else you can see in the room.
I plan on going down to Best Buy and buying it when I come home from school a week from now. That is if I can ever get my PS3 to start working again.
I have the best PS3 made, the 60 gig, and my game has run flawlessly. My friend has the 60 gig, too, and it froze while loading and he had to exchange it.

I beat the strip club mission--weird, the cops didn't come at all. I got into a shoot out with the guy and kept shooting his car becuase I wanted it to explode. That was fuckin' funny.
