I dont think 'blowing it up" is the best way to go since if we do that and start over, we are gonna suck for a while with young players and once those players "grow up" theres still no guarantees of winning a chip. Teams like ATL and CHA are young and fun to watch, but they aint winning anything serious. If i had my way i would hope that we dont make the playoffs (since well just get bounced in 1st or 2nd round neway) get a good draft pick and draft an energetic SCORER. Hope that Rod and Kiki can work a little magic to sign some young, exciting players if theres some available and/or make a few small trades to get a good bench scorer in here. Im willing to use any combo of Boki, Wright, Twin or Mags really for trade bait if needed. So b/w the draft, small trades or FA signings, get some young athletic bodies in here who are gonna run with Kidd and score. (Guys like Monta Ellis, Azabuke, D. Gibson..come to mind) Not tat we will be able to get guys of that caliber poss but players similar to those. Then we hope Kidd has one or two decent yrs left in him, hope Carter can give something if hes healthy next year, hope Curly is a real 100% and that Boone and Sean nad MWIll continue to get better over the summer. I think with some young, running players, Kidd will be more motivated to play and if nothing else, we still will have some young bodies when hes gone, so its like a half revamp.Keep the core group and just get younger, more exiting players around them. I dono, maybe that doesn't make any sense but it wishful thinking.

Why not blow it up...we obviously suck now and the big three is going to continue to decline as the years pass. We might as well get what we can get for them and clear cap room and use the draft to better prepare for the franchise's future in Brooklyn.
I agree there isnt a lot of talent in the draft but if we scout right we can find something. Not a guy to come in and take over the team, because you dont have to be a huge talent when you play with Kidd. (Moore, RJ, KMART) And just because we dont get a top 10 pick doesnt mean we cant get someone to score off the bench. I dont believe Monta or the rest of the guys i mentioned were top 10 picks. I guess it has to do with luck, but when you have Kidd finding people for open shots, its a bit easier. I mean I was happy with Mikki, Hassan and House but those guys r gone so we need something off the bench who can run and bring some energy.

Daniel Gibson was drafted as a point guard but had limited ball skills, poor passing ability and was primarily known for shooting the ball basically a poor man's Stephon Marbury. I'm not even sure he would be great on another team as Lebron acts as a pointguard even though he's a SF and its Lebron who runs the offense. As for Azubuke...nobody knew about him...he was cut by the Rockets and Mullin took a chance on him. This class has almost no swingmen at all...its loaded with bigmen and PGs...an area where we really aren't too bad.

They knew he was a steal. But we just couldn't conjure up a good trade to get a 2nd rounder, and the Warriors jumped on that one. Gibson wanted to go to Cleveland. Cleveland wanted Gibson. He cancelled all other workouts after he knew he was getting drafted by them. So moot point there. Azuibuke was injured going into the draft, so nobody wanted damaged goods...but the Warriors were willing to take a chance on him. And it paid off.
Gibson, Ellis and Buike are all 2nd year players. So if we look to the draft, we're looking not at next season, but 2 season's from now for this pick to have an impact. Buike was actually a D-Leaguer a year ago, they brought him in because they ran out of healthy bodies. His find allowed them to move JRich and save a lot of money this season. We've already gone through this process, as we see Kidd and VC aren't spring chickens any more. We've probably done this the last 2 offseasons, lets just add a draft pick here and there.....now it's 2 years later. Wright was the wrong pick. Boone has developed nicely, so has SWAT, Williams would have but was set back by the injury, so we've mined 3 positive pieces out of the last 3 drafts......but where has it gotten us? No where. How many more years are we going to postpone the dreaded "r" word? The more you postpone, the worst it will be.
