Josh Barnett has signed to face... Aleksandar Emelianenko, according to a report, at the same Chicago event that will host Fedor's fight against Semmy Schilt in April. In May of 2006 Barnett and Emelianenko squared-off at PRIDE: Total Elimination Absolute. In that fight Barnett finished the lanky Russian with a keylock in the second round. "The Baby-Faced Assassin" also has a win over Fedor's opponent, Schilt, in 2003 at Inoki Bom-Ba-Ye 2003 - Inoki Festival. He won that fight with an armbar. If true, it begs the question: why is Barnett facing Aleks, who he has already beaten, and why is Fedor facing Schilt, who he has already beaten? Logically, shouldn't the fight be between Fedor and Josh? Eh...
hopefully if they both win it'll set up a match between the two. it does seem like Pride executives are doing the booking though...
