@ Netsfan318 Marcus is a ball hog, when we drafted him I thought we would have another great passer on the team and he would be able to manage the game fairly quickly. But dude wastes so much time just dribbling away in one spot. Barely hits the open man umless it's his uconn buddy. Watch the next few games, pay attention to the shot clock, people that are open whom he doesnt pass to and how stagnint our offence becomes. I however dont have a problem with his jumper with time it should be back to last year consistency. Also last game with about 5 seconds left in the first half he had VC wide open on the three point line (Vince was waving his hands like a mad man for the ball) but he decided to take it himself against 2 guy and got stripped ending the half.

I did notice the game vs GS he was the only one that could spread the floor and LF had horrible substitutions if not for RJ and AW that game wouldn't have been anywhere as close as it got. Tonight NJ plays Minny I'll pay really close attention to MW but again I don't see a ballhog in him, I've seen it in Vince Carter even Boki at times but not MW.
If we trade him, the summer is filled with players who have just as much, or more potential than he does. Daniel Gibson Shaun Livingston Louis Williams Beno Udrih

It's incredible to me how everyone hates on Marcus even though Jason Kidd is no better. At this moment, Kidd is averaging 36.7% of his field goal attempts, and around 33% of his three-point attempts. he is averaging under 2.5 free throws a game-=-the FEWEST in his career. He is averaging nearly four turnovers per game--the HIGHEST in his career. He is averaging the fewest steals in his career and is used as a turnstyle by opposing guards. Only one year in the last ten has he had fewer offensive rebounds per game. He's also taking the fewest shots in ten years. Moreso, he does not impose his will on the game. Kidd is to blame as much as anyone else for the Nets' mediocre record. And unlike Carter and RJ, he doesn't have an injury to blame. I'd be more than happy punting him and going with Marcus. Marcus may never develop the skills to lead a good team--but the current PG is no better.

He's a ball-hog, who dribbles far too much, shooting ridiculous shots, getting 75% of his layups blocked. Don't blame Frank for benching him. He deserves to be benched. If we can get something solid in return, get rid of him.</div> what Marcus Williams have you've been watching ? last I checked the Nets wanted him to regain his scoring touch, he has never been greedy , nowhere near watever the hell your insinuating. I 'm seeing this text and if people didn't know better they'd say your calling him Stephon Marbury the 2nd. Marcus moves the ball, and he drives and kicks it out, on a fastbreak he always gets guys the wide open shot. The 3pt shots are to stretch the floor, Kidd takes the same amount of 3's and bricks more than MW but no one saids a damn thing. </div> Don't even go there bro. Marcus has potential, but since entering the league, that's all he has been. Kidd has done the work, so don't even go there. Saying he's Stephon Marbury 2, may not be a stretch at all. The two are very similar. Talented? Yes, point guards? No.

We don't even have to include his playing time this year as it has not been much. If you just go with last year, he holds the ball way to long at the top of the key. He will not pass to a starter he only looks for the 2nd unit. I am a season ticket holder and went to all home games last season and I saw it with my own eyes. Always felt the same way about him.
Marcus's overdribbling and chuck-first mentality has nothing to do with him missing training camp due to injury. It's just how he plays. If trading him makes us better, we have to do it. I also don't think Sean Williams should be untouchable. If we have to give him up to get better, then do it.

Something has to give. They have to decide what is the proper course for the franchise. The combination they have now won't accomplish anything. *although I suspect that they thought it would be temporary until Krstic came back, which may never happen. Incidentally, a Krstic-Boone-Sean Williams frontcourt rotation has potential, and assuming krstic ever plays again, i wouldn't mind seeing it unfold. They've got such different and complimentary skills.
