On most odds, we're ranked pretty highly so give your opinion. Which team plays us the best and which teams are you most worried about playing against in a 7 game series.
For example, while Utah is a better team.. Golden State would be ranked higher on this list.

Spurs, Detroit, Phoenix, Lakers.

What happened with Warriors will not happen again. (they weren't a better team and will never be)

QUOTE (Dre)

SA, GS, Phoenix, Utah. In that order.
Agreed.
San Antonio
Even with the Golden State thing last year, which I dont think will happen again, SA is the only team Dallas can't beat IMO.

Well, we beat them last year.

Personally, I think it goes
1. Phoenix 2. San Antonio 3. Golden State 4. Miami Heat
They are the only threats, IMO.

QUOTE (Denny Crane)

JR Ewing?

Do you know who shot him without looking it up?

QUOTE (GM3)

San Antonio
Even with the Golden State thing last year, which I dont think will happen again, SA is the only team Dallas can't beat IMO.

The "GS thing" is now sure to happen again. Wishful thinking does not beat them. They just got bigger, and better with their top two draft picks, and are returning Don (who's your daddy, Avery?) Nelson. Good luck, you will need it in the West.

Remember, the 8th seed beat them. The other top 7 teams, which are better than GS, didn't even get the opportunity to sink their teeth into them. You really think they have a prayer in the playoffs? lol!

But, do you really think the Lakers, Utah, Denver or the Rockets would have beaten us?

Golden State has our number for the past 2 years, just unlucky we got beat. We've beaten them once in 7 games in the past two years, then we won 2 out of 6..an improvment. Plus, they lost Jason Richardson..an integral part of their offensive arsenal

He was not an *Integral* part of the team. He was merely a 3pt shooter with very poor ball-handling/dribbling skills. The Warriors did themselves well by trading him for potential.

I think you're being slightly delusional, Richardson was an integral piece, and he's grown as a guard the past few years.
And I don't think you've followed the history of the GS-Dallas matchup the past few years, it's been a streaky rivalry. We had their number for a few years, then they got their streak against us, I think the major reason for both streaks is Don Nelson.
But your logic about the Lakers being able to beat us just because the Warriors did is shoddy at best. The playoffs are about matchups, and the Warriors match up very well against us, the Nuggets or Lakers, not so much.

QUOTE (Dre)

I think you're being slightly delusional, Richardson was an integral piece, and he's grown as a guard the past few years.

Not at all. J Rich just hangs out at the left corner, dropping three pointers, and occasionally gives the fans a pretty dunk on the extremely off-chance that the def is completely out of position. His dribbling/ball handling skills are poor, and gets pick-pocketed way too often. He was the perfect piece that the warriors needed to use as leverage for the trade, and they can make up for his 3-pt production in the other proven players on the team. I wish him all the best in the future, and I believe he will get better. Golden Statekept the players that they needed to keep, he was merely redundancy.

QUOTE

And I don't think you've followed the history of the GS-Dallas matchup the past few years, it's been a streaky rivalry. YEs, if Don Nelson were running things there, Dallas would probably be my favorotite to win that series.

No, he's not the best penetrator or decision maker, but he's good for an efficient 18-20 points a game. Maybe in GS he wasn't needed, but a team like Utah would love him, so him being redundant doesn't matter if he's a good player.

QUOTE

So, you are just hoping for a streak to occur in Dallas' favor for no apparent or logical reason. I was using the streakto let you know that GS beating us is because they've had our number for awhile, I didn't say anything to indicate I "hoped" we could magically start a streak of our own.
It's pretty clear that Don Nelson will probably beat us everytime because he can outcoach the guy he mentored and the team he pretty much built. Do you approve of that reasoning?

QUOTE

I am confident that Avery Johnson will not make the best decisions when creating the 1-on-1 matchups that it will take beat the likes of GS (or LAfor that matter) come next playoffs. That we got beat by a team with a coach who knows us in and out? Ok.
And I don't know why you keep mentioning the Lakers in this, Kobe can score 40 a game and it won't matter, they're not a good team right now. The only teams that we've historically had problems with is Phoenix, SA, and Golden State, and I'm willing to bet that the Jazz will be a tough task starting next season as well thanks to Deron, who I'm afraid might just pick us apart.
