We're notoriously known for being heavy into deadline rumors, but don't do anything...call me a fool if you want, but I've got a feeling Lamar is on his way out this deadline. He's hit rock bottom in L.A. with his argument with Phil. He isn't a triangle basketball player. He's also more effective in the Eastern Conference, IMO. He's got a very nice 15 million coming off the books NEXT YEAR, so that can be a very appealing aspect of convincing a team to take him.

What are some REALISTIC deals that you would like to see?

I believe we don't need to change the team too much, dealing Odom and Kwame is my priority. I'm really high on this trade, I think it's fair for both teams, as well.

Lakers Trade: Sasha Vujacic, Lamar Odom, Kwame Brown, 1st Round Pick
Lakers Receive: Jason Kidd, Jamaal Magloire

Nets Trade: Jason Kidd, Jamaal Magloire
Nets Receive: Sasha Vujacic, Lamar Odom, Kwame Brown, 1st Round Pick

Why for the Lakers: Simple, if everyone is healthy, they're the clear cut favorite to come out of the west, IMO. They rid themselves of Lamar Odom, who despite being a good player, doesn't fit into the Lakers system of offense. Kidd gives them a true PG (don't consider Fisher one). It takes pressure off of Kobe to be the dominant scorer and ball handler, he can focus on D and scoring with this. We also get a big body to replace Kwame Brown.

Why for the Nets: Now, I don't follow them but from what I've read, they need a shooter. That would be Sasha Vujacic. If he doesn't pan out, he's an expiring contract I do believe. Kwame Brown gives you a decent backup Center who can play good defense when he isn't relied on to be the number 1 C. Lamar Odom gives you a ball handler who was born to create, not be a scorer. Right now, that's what L.A. is relying on him for. The 1st round pick is another step at rebuilding.

    Lakers Lineup:
PG: Jason Kidd / Jordan Farmar / Javaris Crittenton
SG: Kobe Bryant / Derek Fisher / Coby Karl
SF: Luke Walton / Trevor Ariza
PF: Ronny Turiaf / Vladimir Radmanovic
C: Andrew Bynum / Jamaal Magloire / Chris Mihm

    I like it!

yea cool... but... how long will we be left with a shortage of big men? around 2 - 3 weeks? hmmm, we could possibly do this.

    good trade

thought its a long shot and a pipe dream... i prefer Brand and Gerald Green for Odom, Kwame and Vlad (LOL from my other thread)

There's a plethora of players out there on the block that I'd love to look in to, the obvious one is Kidd, and Mamba already touched on him.

A couple of the others that interest me are Kurt Thomas and Chris Wilcox from Seattle. If possible I'd actually be interested in getting both of them. They'd give us some depth on the bench when Bynum comes back and each are more than capable of starting in his absence.

The other guy out there that interests me is Zach Randolph. While some people might be opposed to this, I'd love it. A frontcourt of him and Bynum would be absolutely deadly, and then factor in we have the best wing player in the league in Kobe, I think we'd have contender written all over us as long as Randolph is able to mesh with the team. While some might find that a problem, I don't think it would. I think Randolph would be able to mesh pretty quickly since he'd go from bottom of the barrel to a team that has the potential to be a contender when healthy.

I guess if Kobe and Kidd each play 37 mpg.

That leaves a total of 22 mpg to split for Farmar, Fisher, and J-Critt. (Carl doesn't matter)

Fisher is averaging 26 mpg right now, Farmar is averaging 21 mpg, and J-Critt is averaging 8 mpg.

I guess the Lakers will give 15 mpg to Fisher, 5 mpg to Farmar, and 2 mpg to J-Critt? and just put developing Farmar and J-Critt on hold?

You bring up a good point, but I'd be more than willing to bet that there'll be times where they might slide Kobe down to the 3 to get Farmar and Fisher more minutes.

Is there any chance we can get Paul Millsap from Utah? I would like them to give Elton Brown a chance too.

That doesn't sound like such a great idea defensively.

If we traded for Kidd we would most likely give up Farmar or Crit I assume.

Jason Kidd, going on 35, off microfracture surgery, bad back, cracked ribs, no J, for Kwame, Lamar, sasha and a pick? The Lakers should do this in a heartbeat. "Kid"ding aside, Jason brings a lot more than his age and injuries. It's no secret that the guy is age-less. Kidd may not make up for Sasha's shooting, but he has his streaks and is proven in clutch situations. Kidd will more than make up for Kwame and Lamar's rebounds, combined. And Kidd can get Lamar's assist average by half time. Aside from this fututure hall of famer's leadership, I think the most important thing here, is that Kobe will finally be happy. But all of this must not come in the expense of Bynum. Personally, I would have dealt him for Kidd last season. But Bynum has shown improvement, and he would be a great fit with Kobe and Jason.

We'll hear a bunch of dumb rumors from ESPN, but not much will go through! Same as every year.
