Bucher says the best time to deal is during the draft. Right now Dallas and LA are both playing well so they don't have any motivation to deal. If the Nets wait till after the postseason once the Mavs or Lakers get bounced from the playoffs they will be looking to improve and get over the hump. These offers are crap, I rather risk letting Kidd's contract run out then take on any of these deals I'm reading.
couldn't agree more. as I said in another thread, I wouldn't be surprised if Kidd is a Net this entire miserable season.
Plus we can put the draft pick to the faces. Nobody really wants him right now because of 'chemistry' so just wait till they loose.

(Except Phoenix, Utah, New Orleans, Detroit, and maybe San Antonio just b/c TD has a man-crush on Parker)

Yes, it is above 20 mil but it's only two years while Kidd is playing All-Star level.
And if the Lakers lose in the WCF, we're in great shape. They might feel like they need to make a move to get over the hump.
All I want is for Kidd to make it to the finals and have to beat us for his ring...which he doesn't get, and it's a magnificent notch in the Derrick Rose era

haha if Marcus Williams leads the Nets to a finals over Jason Kidd a lot of people's heads around here would explode
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (GMJigga @ Jan 29 2008, 11:35 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>heh, Hollinger's formula would divide by zero...successfully.</div> lol yea, it probably would just to spite the Nets. So I guess every computer but Hollinger's would explode. I think the Nets shouldn't wait until the offseason, just because if Kidd doesn't want to play here and won't want to take the Nets to the finals, then he deserves a shot at a ring with a team he wants to play for. If the Nets don't trade him that is a wasted season for him.
True, but seeing as Kidd doesn't want to play for us anymore, and I'm actually a pretty big fan of the team he's quitting on...I'm entitled to just say F him. I'm a Nets fan, not a Jason Kidd fan. For the past couple of years the two were interchangable and shared similar goals. So what I want out of this situation is a result that best benefits the Nets, and not Jason. heh, I think it'd be funny to ship him to the heat or Wolves, but I'm not that cruel. Still, seeing as an era of this franchise is about to end, I want the Nets to do what it takes to ensure the future of the franchise. The future of an ex-Net is mainly inconsequential to me (unless its you Kenyon, you heartbreaker).
Wow. Look at the Western Confrence standings. The Spurs lost to the Sonics tonight and the Spurs(Spurs!!!) are 3 games from dropping out of the playoffs. Two good Western Confrence teams could end up missing the playoffs completely. Somebody in the Western Confrence could decide to make a move with that kind of competition.
