kidd tearing up the reporters right now! when asked about the trade: "I'm happy we won tonight" do you see yourself finishing the season as a net: "strike 2...I'm glad you guys are here tonight after we lost 9 in a row"
So what does this make the Nets after they let Kidd play? A bunch of you wanted to bench the guy who made the big plays at the end.

I think a lot of the reactions (or over-reactions) to Kidd's trade request is more due to emotions than logic. Realizing that the face of the franchise may be on his way out is putting most of the fans in a stage of withdrawal (so to speak). Whether you like his actions or not, you can't take away the great player that he is. Jason Kidd, I believe, wanted to win a championsip with the Nets. It just so happened that Kidd and the management had two different views on how to get there. Kidd's exit may very well benefit both parties. Kidd would get his wish to play for a contender and the Nets can start the rebuilding process. Prolonging the rebuilding process will only hurt the team. Marcus Williams should already be on the floor taking a drive test on what should be his team to run. The Nets has great young talents in Boone and Sean Williams. Jefferson will be the veteran that every team needs. And Carter... well that's a mistake that Thorn has to live with. And yes, Frank has to go. I don't believe that Thorn will get equal value for Kidd so he should be looking for the "best" possible scenario. A lot of unnecessary words has been said about Kidd. Bottomline, the Nets and Jason Kidd had their run and now it's time to move on.

I bet you think he's the reason why the nets have made it to the playoffs for the past 3 years, huh? [/quote] Judging from your statement, you don't have a clue. Jason Kidd led a team that had a young Jefferson, Kenyon Martin, who has no post up game, no perimeter shot, mostly gets his points from Kidd off the break or alleyoops. Then there's Keith Vanhorn, a now show during crunch time, a 2 guard in a big's body. And who's at 2? Kerry Kittles, a guy that should have been coming off the bench forced to be a starter. Why? Because there is no one else. Kidd had good old Collins, Scalabrine and MacCulloch to man the middle. Kidd led the team in scoring in all of the Nets playoff series during their first run in 01-02 and where he also averaged a triple double in the east final (17.5 ppg, 10.2 apg and 11.2 rpg). In 02-03, on their way to a 2nd straight finals appearance, Jason Kidd led the Nets in scoring with 18.7ppg while leading the NBA in assists at 8.9 dimes per game (first time a Net player to ever do so). He did all of this with the players mentioned before. I'll put it to you plain and simple, Jason Kidd is the reason why the Nets made their only finals stint in the NBA. Like him or not, those are the facts.
