Unable to watch the game. Usually when the Bulls shoot .333 they get ~20 offensive rebounds. Tonight, only 5. And 22 TOs.
The bulls have trouble with bigs (the shimmy counts as one) who can shoot outside. Big Ben isn't the kind of player to be guarding guys on the wings, and neither Noah nor Thomas are particularly good at it. Where's Joe Smith?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>In the first quarter of tonight’s game, Aaron Gray hit Craig Smith just above the eye, leaving the mark of a band-aid over a cut. Later, in the fourth quarter, Gray wasn’t able to stop the momentum of his arm, and “inadvertently” nailed Marko Jaric in the nose. Gray had 7 points and 5 rebounds, and was just about the best player for the Bulls tonight. The Bulls were once again without Ben Gordon and Luol Deng, who continue to sit with injuries. Last night the Bulls defeated the Timberwolves, but tonight was a different story. The Bulls’ struggled to put points on the board en route to only scoring 67 points, losing to the Timberwolves of a score 83 to 67. This game should serve as a wake up call to the people in the let Deng and Ben walk if their offers are too high, this team is horrible without them, worse than the worst team in the league, and the Bulls don’t have the financial flexibility to rebuild at all without them. The youngsters at least continued to play well. Joakim Noah scored 10 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Thabo Sefolosha had 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Unfortunately he had 6 turnovers to go with that line, but Sefolosha still played a great game defensively. Hopefully Noah will be rewarded the starting spot for the rest of the season. Tyrus Thomas still is not ready for a major role on this team. He will likely be banished to the bench when Joe Smith comes back. In his 17 minutes in the game, Thomas put up 8 points and 4 rebounds, but had a negligible impact on the game. However, his recent play is showing signs of life, so hopefully this is not the outcome, and Thomas gets a chance to continue to grow. Andres Nocioni continues his streak of horrendous play that has been going on since the start of the season. The guy has no conscious, and plays more selfishly than any other player in the league. He shot 2-12 and amassed 5 turnovers. Hopefully Paxson finds a sucker to unload the league’s biggest on court cancer by the trade deadline. Kirk Hinrich had 14 points and 9 assists, but did not show the same aggressiveness as he did last night. Al Jefferson showed why he is regarded as one of the league’s best young lowpost scorers, putting up 26 points and 20 rebounds. Ryan Gomes also had 25 points and 10 rebounds, helping Jefferson in his effort of obliterating this lackadaisical Bulls team. The Bulls fall to an 18-27 record, and are now 1.0 game behind the New Jersey Nets for the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference. The Nets are likely to trade Jason Kidd soon, and will likely begin a descent in the standings as a result.</div> http://www.dabullz.com/2008/01/30/bulls-ti...sed-and-broken/ I'm tired of this team. Can't wait for Ben Gordon to get back so this team can start showing some signs of life again.
I was at the game, Big Ben hit 3/4 ft's!!! My beloved Big Al had 26 and 20. Very strange first. On my end it was great to watch.
