<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Kings are believed to have had recent discussions with Denver regarding Artest, and could possibly be pursuing forward Nene Hilario. While Artest will make $7.4 million this season, the trade would work as it falls within the league rules of contracts coming within 20 percent of one another as Nene – in his sixth season – will earn $8.84 million this season in his contract that goes through 2011 with a player option for the 2011-12 campaign. Hilario, though, is battling testicular cancer and hasn't played since Jan. 7.</div> Source: Sac Bee This would be a killer deal for the Nuggets. They finally get to dump Nene and they get Artest for a season to make a playoff run. Potential lineup? PG - Iverson SG - Artest SF - Melo PF - KMart C - Camby If those five can figure out how to win together watch out.
This would be a huge deal for the Nugs if they could do this. They'd go from pretender to contender pretty quickly if they can mesh too. Hell, I'd go so far to say they might also have the best defensive frontcourt in the NBA with Artest/Camby/KMart.
It would be a meh move. Artest, AI, and Melo each create with the ball in their hands. Melo and Artest are SFs who like to drive to the basket. Denver needs outside shooting, Artest doesn't help with that at all. I'd probably do it just because Artest's contract expires sooner than Nene's and Denver is over the luxury tax line, and also have KMart and Camby.
This is a great trade for Denver, but why would Sacramento do this? Doesn't Nene have a big contract? Also, they already have quite a lot of bigs under contract. Shareef Rahim, Kenny Thomas, Brad Miller, Miki Moore, and 1st round pick Spencer Hawes. This trade doesn't make sense for the Kings.... Also, where would you play Ron Artest? He plays the same position as Carmelo Anthony
