Ugh. You'd figure a player that's been in the league for as long as Odom and has been around basketball for as long as he has would be capable of knowing what to do at that point. And I think rushing the shot is a bit of an understatement. He had a couple more seconds to get a better look, but instead just jacked it up immediately.
