<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Jason Collins could be on his way to Memphis for 6-foot-10 forward Stromile Swift, league sources said. Wow, this deal goes down, I'm really gonna miss him. And I'm not kidding. Jason's always been a professional.
I know what you mean; let me update my list: RIP Kenyon Martin RIP Jason Collins <div align="center"> <div align='left'>Another trade casulty; ye who whoever wears the Nets red, white, and blue. </div></div>
why would this mean jb's days are done? swift would be a bench warmer most likely. as much as I'm not crazy for Collins, it will in fact be kinda sad to see him go. not for his playing abilities, but because he was a funny guy, and one of our last pieces remaining from the finals years. if kidd goes, then RJ will be the sole survivor from those years.

jb has been a light for us in these dark times, he's been the only net to be playing consistant. he's fine. he's part of our future I believe.

If we trade Collins there is nothing that can happen for the rest of the season to upset me. I love the approach Thorn is taking. Clean house!!!! The only one I would keep is RJ, but if we have to ship him too I'll do it. Its time for us to rebuild from scratch.

players who most likely won't be trades this year: Sean, boone, krsitic (simply because he has no value at the moment) , ..... ? that may be it in all honesty. it's kinda exciting and scary at the same time. but really, at this point josh and sean are my favorite two nets, so that's cool with me

why would boones days be done hes the only one consistantly giving effort, cant remember anyone else ive seen dive for loose balls other than him
So, Swift is making 5,800,000 on a one-year deal that expires this year. Collins is making 6,100,000 on a two-year deal that doesn't expire until after next year. Translation: if Memphis is making this deal, either their GM is smoking crack (possible) or there is a consensus that Collins is a better player than Stromile Swift. I love this deal. Go Kiki Go! More expiring contracts! More! EDIT: So, apparently, this post is 100% wrong, cause Stro has a player option for like 6+ million next year. Blah. I'm suddenly much less enamored with the deal.
Trading for Swift and having him be the first big guy off the bench makes sense for a team that wants to run. WE want to run, and now we'll have a fairly athletic guy who is actually capable of running/finishing coming off the bench. Not to mention, someone to catch lobs/finish in the halfcourt. All things our current (and past) bench bigs haven't been able to do since... uhh... A-Train I guess. Of course, we are supposed to be trading Kidd, which makes all of the above a complete waste. Anyone with half a brain has been saying for years that Jason Kidd just needs to be surrounded with athletes, preferably ones that play defense (in Swift's case, he blocks shot... good enough). But now, a few years too late, to finally try and put those players around him during the same week we are supposed to be trading the guy... it makes little sense. Unless of course we don't actually plan on trading the guy.
