<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (such sweet thunder @ Feb 1 2008, 01:08 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I also have to take issue with Sloth's take on Sefolosha. I feel like a broken record here, but when did 12 and 6 become acceptable for a starter playing thirty plus minutes a game? That's really not going to cut it. I mean, he is going to have to consistently put up another five to seven points a game before we can feel comfortable with him being an average starter. It's still a long road. . .</div> I read this and I generally agree with it. He's still looking more like a 3 than a 2 to me. I think he's showing he can play in the league, but I'm not seeing a guy I want as our long-term solution as a starter.
Marginal starter, situational backup. However... Shane Battier 35 MPG 42% FG 38% 3Pt 8.5 PPG 4.9 RPG 1.9 APG 1.2 SPG 1.2 BPG 12/6 for a starter isn't horrible, considering he does bring decent defense.
I'd give Thabo a shot at starting. At this point it would be wise to play around with the Dengless and supposedly Gordonless line up.
I think one thing we have to begin to acknowledge though is that Hinrich is playing stronger next to Sefolosha. Was it Van Lier who had that great comment about how hard it is to play point and guard bigger players? Even if Thabo isn't all that good, he may be okay for the Bulls version '08 (or at least showing how much we could have used Brandon Roy).
I dunno if a few game sample is enough to talk about a Kirk resurgence. In reality he seems to be playing better than the "bad" he was playing for most of the year, but he's still not playing as well as he generally as playing next to Ben and Chris for the last several years.

He had a pretty incredible first half. His shooting percentage is really low because he missed most of his shots in the fourth quarter, which obviously isn't good. But he was flashing the all court game we first saw in the summer league two years back. The confident ball handling was there, as was the varied scoring, both slashing and jumpshooting. And that steal and dunk was awfully Pippenesque. I'm glad he's getting more minutes, because given the time through injuries, he's really gaining a level of confidence and learning to produce on the starter level.
