Thats it? That's all the Grizzlies got for Gasol? Fantastic trade for the Lakers, back to the promise land.
Yea, Miller I would think is on his way out, and apparently Stro Swift may be gone by weeks end too. They'll still have a solid nucleus of youth though. Mike Conley Rudy Gay Java Crittenton That's a pretty solid trio right there and I think Critt might end up more of a 2 than a PG in this league anyways. Anyone have a clue how this happened though? I mean, this deal came completely out of left field. Last I knew, there weren't even reports that the Lakers were talking with the Grizzlies about a deal, and all the sudden, bam. I'm not complaining, but holy hell was this a surprise.
Usually that's what happens, these deals come out of nowhere. ESPN still hasn't reported it LOL. They were slow on the Ariza deal too. Where's Ric Bucher?

They've got new ownership supposedly coming in and they probably want to get rid of everyone and start fresh. The team is clearly in a rebuilding stage and you can't have a max guy on your team with that. That's why Kwame is coming in. He's an expiring contract. Stro Swift might be on his way out for Jason Collins, another expiring contract. Don't be surprised if Mike Miller is shipped away soon as well. Hell, throw in the Damon Stoudamire buyout as well as a way to shed payroll. This team is basically blowing it up and starting over.

I wouldn't doubt if Sportscenter has something about it near the top of the next one.

We also took and threw in Aaron McKie. So the final trade was: Kwame Brown (expring) Java Crittenton Marc Gasol Aaron McKie (expiring) '08 and '10 first rounders
Congrats Lakers fans. Now you can contend with the Celtics. lol But seriously, what a great move. Gasol and Bynum up front. wow.
Woah! That was unexpecting. Kobe must be loving it right now. Great move guys, really great. All you need is Kidd.
Someone call Mamba and tell him. He'll go nuts and just start jumping all over the place. I'm still in shock by this. This was a robbery by Mitch and he just ass raped Memphis's front office with this trade. I also wonder how Navarro is taking this. He went to Memphis to play with Pau, now he's gone. I would of loved if Pau could come play tonight against the Raptors, we could get a look at Gasol and Kobe together.
