I also find it hard to believe we couldn't offer something better to Memphis in order to swing Gasol to NJ and get Kidd to Lakers.

bullshit! blasphemy! Oh, no, the Nets couldn't get Gasol for Carter last season. No way, that just wouldn't make sense. I hate our GM, the Grizzlies' GM, and the Lakers' GM.
Upside - this might push the Mavs to make a move, now that they're feeling the heat from a new West powerhouse.
