West will retire soon.....this is his farewell gift to the Lakers. West isn't even their GM anymore.

So is the first trade of brothers in the history of the NBA? The Barry's have never been traded for each other.

We'd have traded Petey for a sack of peanuts.

Isn't Collins also an expiring contract after this year?

Find it hard to believe Memphis couldn't do better than that. Those picks will be late 1st rounders.

I also find it hard to believe we couldn't offer something better to Memphis in order to swing Gasol to NJ and get Kidd to Lakers.

Gasol helps them more than Kidd would

    Wow.

I just hope Gasol is as overrated as his trade value suggests.

Ugh, it's going to be 4 more years of Lakers-Celtics finals. Booooring.

    bullshit! blasphemy!

Oh, no, the Nets couldn't get Gasol for Carter last season. No way, that just wouldn't make sense.

I hate our GM, the Grizzlies' GM, and the Lakers' GM.

Upside - this might push the Mavs to make a move, now that they're feeling the heat from a new West powerhouse.

Josh Howard and Devin Harris for Kidd and Carter!

I know it'll never happen, but it makes my fantasy world a little brighter.

Oh I know he helps the Lakers more than Kidd, but if the Nets offered the young prospects, and what should be a better pick, Memphis could have told the Lakers they want to do the deal with NJ and they could get Kidd out of it if they wanted.

Mitch just pulled off the steal of all steals. That's incredible, and insanely disappointing.
