Why the hell in their right minds would Memphis trade Gasol to another team in the Western Conference? And for pieces of shit like that?

That's telling me that there weren't any better trades. I mean, is that really possible?

Fuck the expiring contract, the "young talent" (which isn't even lottery talent), the draft picks (which will turn out to be shit). Is it really possible they couldn't have gotten something better?

Someone please give me some sort of a reasonable explanation.

They get extra picks, and young players to rebuild with, they also now have a legit chance at the top pick...again LOL.

    It's a legitimate question.

It's one thing if you trade Jason Kidd for that.

It's another if you trade a 27 year old big man in his prime for that.

I wonder too. The Lakers didn't even take on Brian Cardinals contract either.

I'm sure the Bulls offered better. I'm sure many teams offered better as well but I guess they just wanted a Gasol for a Gasol.

Call it what you want, that was a terribly shitty trade. And makes little sense to me.

The Grizzlies coulda have gotten better, and you know it.

I thought he was still a consultant with the team. My bad.

You do realize peg was complimenting your team, by saying the picks will be shit?

Pau Gasol + Kobe Bryant + Lamar Odumb + Kobe Bryant + Andrew Bynum

That's a damn good team. Picks in the 20-30 region. That's why those draft picks will be shitty.

[sarcasm]And sorry to diss your boy Crittenton. The 3.3 point, 0.8 assist wonder. He'll do great on a team with Conley, Lowry, and Navarro. Hats off to that youngin.[/sarcasm]

Really, I don't see what's so special about him.

    This trade still perplexes me.

When Crittenton gets playing time he's pretty decent, I even thought he was going to be a lot better then Famar. But whatever thats your opinion.

Possibly. But he hasn't proven much in this league.

And he's going to a team with 2/3 other young point guards, who are better than him and have proven more than him.

This trade just doesn't make sense to me, at all. Great job screwing up, Memphis. I hope if they ever do make the playoffs in the next ~3 years, they have to face the Lakers, and get killed. I don't just mean swept, I mean getting blown out by 20, 30. Getting dunked on by Kobe, Pau, Bynum. Just to rub it in as to how stupid they are.

Hm. If that trade w/ Kidd goes thru, the Nets would be getting:

    Jarret Jack
    Martell Webster
    Channing Frye
    Jerry Stackhouse
    Desagana Diop (exp)
    Devean George (exp)
    2 first round picks (??)

I'm not sure where those picks are, but hell, this trade is looking waaay better than the Gasol trade. And Kidd definitely does not hold more value than Gasol.

I'm with pegs, this is putrid for Memphis. They went from demanding Luol Deng from Chicago to settling for an expiring contracts, a point guard they don't need, and two late first-round picks. What? I'm stunned at how little they got in return, and I'm stunned at how cheaply the Lakers brought back a 7-foot All-Star to ADD TO Kobe, Bynum, and Odom. They didn't lose anything. They replaced Kwame Brown with Pau Gasol.

Chris Wallace was an idiot when he was in Boston, and he is an idiot in Memphis. Hell, if it wasn't for Danny Ainge, he'd have probably traded Paul Pierce for Adrian Griffin and PJ Brown.

Chris Wallace woke up one morning and said to himself, "I'm sick of Pau. I think I'll trade for Kwame Brown and Jason Collins on the same day. The fans will probably throw me a parade!"
