What are you guys doing this Sunday night? Watching the Super Bowl? Awesome, want to know what I'm doing?

Working at a video store, which has no TV channels (just DVD/VCR) or radio, from 3-10. My radio, you ask? Too staticky, impossible to listen. So I am going to miss the absolute biggest moment in Boston/New England sports history because I'll be working at a video store... in New England. Nobody is going to come in there on Sunday night, and I'm furious that I have to miss this.

"Why don't you try and get out of it?" Five other people work there: one is my boss, one is a die-hard football fan, one is a guy with a family, and the other two are 19 or 20-year-old girls who are best friends and inseparable. They just won't do it. I'm stuck in this mess, and there's no way around it.

Now let's mark down the next two Sundays as living hell as well: Celtics/Spurs and the All-Star game.

    Christ.

    Ah geez that sucks.

See if you can get one of those mini-TV's from Radio Shack. They're black and white and they can't cost that much can they?

Why didn't you request this day off weeks (or months) ago?

You could have said you were going out of town with your family.

See if you can have someone record the game for you, or just Tivo it. It won't be the same as watching it live, but at least you'll have something.

The mistake is on you. I requested that date off back in November.

Yeah I realize it is on me, I definitely should have requested the day off weeks ago. But for right now - I'm pissed.

Totally understandable, I'd be hella pissed, too.

I'd either compromise my integrity and beg one of the chicks to or just call-in.

Call in sick dude. I get lucky and I'm off at 2pm central time, so I get off in plenty of time to catch the game. And you know, if you're in Boston, shouldn't they just close down the city outside of the bars? You'd think everyone would want to be home to see if their local football team can rattle off the only 19-0 season ever. Hell, I personally think Super Sunday should be a holiday, regardless of where you live.

No easy fix like that for me - the game ends at 3:30 am and I have school tomorrow [IMG]

Sure there is! It just requires a chainsaw, a duster, and a Lexus.
