He's one of Howland's kids, you would think this kid knew how to lock down. Yet, other than the big news of Gasol, and Bynum's injury, the discussion on the radios lately have been about Farmar's poor defense lately. It seemed like he was playing good D early in the year, but guys have been blowing by him lately. You guys have any theories on why this is? I know he gets a grip of steals, but I hope he doesn't turn into an Iverson type of defender.
Maybe he's focusing on the offensive end since Fish and Lamar haven't been producing and the Lakers have been losing. He seemed like the second most reliable scorer during this stretch. Now that it looks like we'll have back-to-back wins and Pau Gasol, hopefully he'll be more inspired to D up.
No Bynum in the paint to intimidate guards from driving in is probably the main reason. Also with all the injuries our guys are logging a lot more minutes than they are accustomed to. Another factor is looking at the quality of teams we've played the last week.
