I'm sick of the way the 72 Dolphins are starting to be treated. Why make them into bad guys because they are proud of completing the only undefeated season? The media calls them for statements then rakes them over the coals for giving them what they asked for. I'm particularly sick for the way that Shula was treated this year.

The '72 Fins might save some venom for Fox's Terry Bradshaw, who said in November, after Shula's Patriots/Spygate comment: ``I didn't even know [Shula] was still around. I hope [the Patriots go unbeaten] just to put those guys to rest.''

You would think that bald headed piece of crap would treat Shula with a little more respect considering how much he whines like a little baby about being called stupid when he first arrived in Pittsburgh. I used to be a little embarrassed when Mercury Morris would talk smack about the 72 Dolphins, but now I think Mercury should talk all the smack that he wants. Why not? I think he would like the new Dolphins forum slogan.

Here is the article where the 72 Dolphins stick up for their coach.

Edit - By the way, thanks ROTR, but that doesn't mean I forgive Stabler for that pass to Clarence Davis which ended the Dolphins run. (That and the stupid WFL.)

Ever since I heard Jimmy Johnson on FOX attempting to diminish the "Bill Walsh coaching tree" a couple years ago, I lost a lot of respect for him. Tonight, I heard Jimmy Johnson talking up his own college football record, saying that when his Miami Hurricanes went undefeated and lost the National Championship, that they came back and won the next season. I thought Jimmy didn't care about the past.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Members of the 1972 Dolphins are sensitive to perceived slights. That especially is so when they come from Jimmy Johnson, who, after replacing Don Shula as coach in January 1996, said, ``I could care less about the past.''</div>

Well, Jimmy, F *your* past too. If you haven't noticed by now, JJ loved to talk about his past glory, but really doesn't like to give enough credit to others, especially when they aren't among his own clique.

A lot of people are critical of them because they see them as a group of old men that celebrate others failures on an annual basis....the truth is, when the last team loses, they pop the corks and toast what they did, not what others have failed to do....I bet they would have invited the Patriots to join them in their annual toast if they had "parked the car"

    Nope.

Wouldn't it be the '85 Bears? One defeat and they won the SuperBowl.
