<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>One of their staff pundits called in from Tennessee and said that the Grizzlies will buy out Kwame's contract, and the Lakers will pick him up off waivers to fill the last roster spot. Does that make any sense? What are the legal and contractual obligations money-wise of that happening. And if Memphis did waive Brown, what is the order of teams to be able to pick him up off waivers? Perhaps this is why the FO is holding off signing Mbenga.</div>
Wheres the link? Lakers would have to wait 30 days to sign Kwame. I would try to sign him for the Vet's Min. If he doesn't think it's enough, we can just keep Daco.
This has been rumored ever since the trade went down.Steven A Smith will be disappointed in this move. Nice banner Jumpman.
DJ Mbenga has contributed ten times as much as Kwame this season, at a much cheaper price. Signing Mbenga for the rest of the season should be the priority. Then if Kwame is available for cheap, resign him as well. You can never have enough bigs, but honestly, I'm kind of fine not having Kwame on this roster. Not having someone fumble fifty passes every game and missing open dunks and layups is kind of refreshing. If Kwame is resigned, he shouldn't get much, if any playing time. He's only worth another 6 fouls
Obviously, the Grizz are going to give up his contract at the end of the season. So, if you're the Lakers, why not sign him to a 3-yr. $8M contract, with that third year being a team option? Another big, and he doesn't have that pressure to be a producer.

The guy had his worst offensive season this year (per ball possession; 9.9 PER). If there's no one else, then ok, but I'd rather not. The triangle needs High IQ players, we already have enough stupid people on the team.
