So what if the Gasol trade wouldn't put us over the top

Sam Smith says he wouldn't make us a champion. I think this is incredibly short-sighted. Give the Bulls a year with him to regroup, add a guard, find a top flight coach and let Noah develop, and let Kevin Garnett and Kobe Bryant age, and I don't see why he couldn't be the guy to put us over the top.

I don't see why the "final piece" necessarily has to be the literal last one added to the team.

I despise agreeing with Sam Smith, however, the Bulls are still hampered by a poor front office. The Bulls would certainly be better, but I have no doubts with Paxson in charge that they would still be fundamentally flawed.

I'd rather be flawed with a Noah, Gasol, Deng, Gordon, Hinrich lineup for the next couple years than flawed with the same lineup and a gaping hole at PF.

That article pissed me off. I thought it was one biased, unsubstantiated stance after another.

I think Sam Smith is playing devil's advocate with his readers because it's more interesting for him, and it also generates more hits and more discussion.
