I don't get this deal at all. Don't they know how much Shaq is getting paid over the next couple of seasons? Don't they know how old Shaq is? Shaq is a horrible fit for the Suns offense. I don't see how this will work out. Are they going to stop running? Are they going to change up the offense? Because there is absolutely no way Shaq can keep up with those guys. This doesn't make sense one bit. If the Suns are willing to take on such a huge contract, then why were they basically giving up their first round picks these last couple of seasons? They just traded away two first round picks and Kurt Thomas in the offseason for basically nothing because they wanted to avoid paying luxary tax. That team just confuses the hell out of me, not that I'm really complaining, but it just doesn't make sense.

Shaq would make a better fit on the Nets than Suns, and I can't believe THRON, who's actively looking around the league for trades, can't offer something better than Marion and Banks.

I on the other hand think this is great news for Phoenix, and bad news for everyone else in the Western Conference. Who is going to stop both Amare and Shaq? They'll go deep in the playoffs and it would be something if the Suns met the Lakers in one of the rounds. Kobe vs Shaq. lol cpawfan, is it a done deal?

LOL. Steve Kerr is either going to be referred to as a genius or he's going to be a scapegoat if this backfires. Marion & Wade will be an exciting duo for the Heat if they can re-sign him.
Personally, I expect the Riley to use the expirings of Davis and Williams to pull off another deal. Bibby, Wade and Marion in the East - think about that

The Suns aren't going to count on Shaq to score in order for them to win. They have plenty of offensive players, but Shaq adds a new dimension to their roster and gives them a go-to option in the post when Amare is in foul trouble or struggling. Shaq is also a space eater for them on the defensive end and imagine the screens he'll be setting to free up Nash & Barbosa. It's a crazy gamble, but it just might work. The top teams in the West have an overwhelming size advantage against the Suns and those type of lineups defeat them in the post-season. Hill & Diaw will be productive enough at SF for the Suns to get by. The one drawback of this trade is the financial hit they take. They're giving themselves a 1 or 2 year window to win it all now without much left to rebuild with.
I can't believe someone took Shaq's toxic contract off of Riley's hands. I'm guessing Kerr is banking on Shaq being motivated after not being voted an All-Star and being traded from the Heat. But that's still a stupid gamble, because O'neal's aged terribly and even at his best, I'm not sure he fits in this offense. This is what happens when you run Colangelo off your team, Sarver.

It's not gonna happen, you guys are wasting your time. Like I said why would Marion want to go to Miami?

He didn't want to go to Boston remember.
