Derrick Rose>>>Shawn Marion and his contract. Derrick Rose can come in and make an impact like a Chris Paul, Dwanye Wade, Brandon Roy(that's why he's my #1 prospect) he would have had Miami in the playoffs in no time. Marion you don't even know if he'll be there next year, and they'll have the cap space, but no one wants to go to a losing situation. What I would have done is played out the season and trade Shaq in the off-season maybe during draft time. Now what can they get Roy Hibbert?LOL!!!!
PHX likes to run-and-gun, and having to imagine Shaq playing in that type of offense is beyond me. Shaq might have lost some weight, but he's still no where close to being able to run back and forth for 48 mins. Was this some kind of counter to the Gasol deal? I'm really surprised the Suns went ahead with this trade. Maybe Cuban will feel threatened and go for Kidd.

what the hell? who does Riley have pictures of? I thought the Suns were looking to drop cap space, not gain it and get worse. Maybe Kerr had dreams of Shaq playing with Grant Hill, along with a multiple time MVP winner, and a top 10 big man.

Horrible trade for the suns. You trade your best defender and a backup point guard for a player who is injury-prone, on the downside of his career, and is more suited for a half court game rather than the game you play. Brilliant.

(are contenders) : Pistons, Celtics, Spurs, Suns, Lakers. Everyone else can only dream.</div> I'd add Orlando to that list. Dwight Howard and Hedo Turkoglu, plus the rest of the roster, plus Jameer when he comes back...those are some championship contenders, IMO.
out of the East Detroit and Boston that's it, Toronto being a wild card. Out of the West The suns are now out imo, with this horrible trade. The favorites imo in order(not including any trades that might happen) Spurs, Lakers, Utah(surprise). New orleans is not experince in the playoff atmosphere, I don't see Dallas making any noise, unless they get Kidd.

I agree. But that doesn't really matter till the playoffs. And then, when we get to the playoffs, what happens if Shaq gets injured before, or during? That might be a problem.
Miami will still have a top 5 picks... Chemistry takes time to develop, Dwade is hurting, seems like they've given up anyway. add a lottery pick and sign a player and that team could be back.

Despite the lack of experience the type of players, they have suits them for a playoff run. They have the shooter and slasher in Peja and MoPete. A low post guy in West and a defensive minded center in Chandler, wrap that all up in the chemistry guy, with Chris Paul...they will be a threat in the playoffs. I thnk the Suns take themselves out of the ring hunt with this move, how can you go from one system to another within one season? Incredibly stupid. I think the Spurs are hurt, Parker's out, bumps and bruises, who knows they always put it together come May and June. I don't know, I thought the Suns were the top team until the trade. Lakers were a close 2nd following the Gasol trade. I think it's the Lakers to lose right now. I don't even know if getting Kidd helps the Mavs at all. Without that low post threat, it would be tough for the Mavs to see June.
I love the Hornets their my 2nd favorite team, but I don't see them making noise, paul will have a huge playoff, CHandler will be solid, and D west will be have his shine, but after that IDK. They don't really have a reliable bench, Bryon has called out his bench many times this season, and Mo Pete was a horrible signing. They got owned by Utah cause they couldn't guard a big guard like Deron, I see that being a problem, if they meet a team like GS.
