Then you have to figure where the guy shoots it from, ie its alot easyer to shoot it straight up then in the corner. Also you have to think about who is shooting like if there is 2 secs left and Shaq has the ball near the three point line, he might not get any rim.
My elementary school used to go up to CAA to play a game against another school every year, and believe me, it's further away than you think. Granted, I was only in the 6th/7th grade at the time, but it was almost impossible for any of us to hit the rim from that far away while maintaining any accuracy what-so-ever.

lmaoo you saw the 3-point line on TV so you think its close??? hahaha I'm a Junior right now and Freshman Year my AAU team played on the Nets court and it was pretty far. It was almost like a half court shot on a High School floor. My brother also played their last year for his school team (8th grade) and hes a great 3 point shooter n he shot from the nba 3 a few times n couldn't come close. It's a lot tougher than you think. Unless your used to shooting from that range and you practice like nonstop its not really even a shot its more of a chuck towards the rim.. But my bad I'm probably wrong considering you saw it on TV

These guys are professionals, getting paid millions of dollars, and they can't shoot at least 80% from the free throw line. What the hell are they getting paid for? Same goes with 3-point shots; sure they're much more difficult, but still you should be efficient enough to make open shots. As if playing basketball is rocket science. - Quote from my mom.
