Yep. My Xbox Power Pack likes to melt, It's all warped on the bottom and I've had to put Stilts on it to prevent it Burning a hole in the floor or catching fire. Quite serious really, Now i have Burns all over my index finger from when i picked up my red hot Power Pack.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Can't say I've had this happen to me. Do you have proper ventilation around it? You could just not be getting it enough air. I have mine sitting in the wide open and I've never had a problem with it in the 6 months I've had my system.

Wow, maybe you just have a faulty power pack on yours, that's my only guess.

Mine heats up like a sonofabitch but I don't think it's ever been that bad.

    1. I don't think you should keep it on a wooden floor if it heats up that much.
    2. Are you sure it's still a COLD wooden floor?

Yes it overheats. The whole system does. Do you have a 1st gen 360? I recall there was a problem w/ the power packs.

My 360 got so overheated I cracked the clips holding the cpu down, destroying the whole system.

It's a 2nd gen 360. It's not the Xbox overheating it's the huge Block on the power lead.

Also if i play for over 2 hours straight There's an Overwhelming burning smell.

I think you should just go out and buy another one. That doesn't even sound safe anymore.

I just have, £36 ($72) including P&P. Not too bad i guess. The Melted one Caught fire so i thought it would be best to get a new one. The problem is no where sells them except Microsoft and they charge £59 ($118) so my good friend Mr E-bay helped me out [IMG]

We ran out of butter in our butter dish at lunch time, so I tried to melt butter straight from the fridge on my power pack, didn't work I guess the PP must have been about 20C not much more than that.
