<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Nothing has changed after Sunday’s victory over the Mavs. In fact, it may have gotten worse. Mitch Lawrence of the Daily News reports that Jeff Schwartz, Jason Kidd’s agent, has given the Nets an ultimatum: if the team trades Kidd to anything but a contender, ”Schwartz will steer other clients away from New Jersey in the future”. The message was clear: No lottery teams need apply for the Nets’ captain. Schwartz represents 15 players, including four All-Stars.</div> Link Looks like no Lamar Odom.
Owners and GMs aren't going to put up with that type of non-sense from a sports agent. Neither will the players union.
This is the kind of crap that I don't like. Agents are so impatient. They of all people should realize trades take time. Maybe when it's the day before the deadline you can start thinking about ultimatums, but there's over a week left. He needs to just shut it before his mouth gets him in trouble.
Threats like that just make the agent and Kidd appear childish. They both know the Nets will only make a trade in the Nets interest. I don't see the point in trying to force the issue with antics like that.
if this is true then that agent should never work again. also, why is it that he would be able to make such a threat yet if the owners come out and say they will NEVER sign a player who is represented by a certain agent then it would be considered collusion. Also, if true, the agent is holding his other clients best interest hostage because of a demand by another client. I bet the other clients don't appreciate that too much.
all I know is Kiki is from Germany so homey better be careful w/ the threats, plus he's a former baller
Does this guy know who hes messin with?? ROD FU**IN THORN, THATS WHO. This guy sent a pissed Alonzo to a bad Raptor team and got back VC. This guy means business if he cant find a trade to a contender, he cant find one!
The thing I don't get is why he is making threats at us. He should make threats to Dallas and others to offer better or you will fail.

This fool better watchout Zo to the Raptors remember that !, Marbury to the Suns remember that ! you sure you wanna do this Schwartz
hes getting paid $20million a year, he will play wherever we send him. As for you Jeff Schwartz, You'll get nothing and like it!! lol
You gotta pray that you can find a GM as retarded as Babcock, if you're bringing up the 'Zo comparison.

Thorn is the king of waiting for the right deal even to the point of missing out on some potentially good ones...some cocky agent will not change that...I hope the right deal that comes is with a rebuilding team so JKidd will fire this agent and make other potential clients wary of his way of doing business...besides he doesn't have lebron james and not many players want to go to NJ anyway so "steering his clients away" is not that much of a threat. i would rather have jkidd's expiring contract next year and the high pick (if jkidd gets chronic migraine) than get raped on a deal so we can trade for a big man we can put alongside jay-z's close friend lebron james after '09-'10.
Schwartz's first client was Kidd. Joumana actually picked him out. He was working in the entertainment industry....I guess Joumana was looking out for her career. Kidd came in with Aaron Goodwin and Bill Duffy as his agents. I guess since this is Schwartz's first go around at this, he's acting on Kidd's request, rather than at his own initiative.

If he is an attorney, he could potentially be censured or even disbarred. His SOLE interest is to do what is in the interest of his client--not what is in his OWN interest or in the interest of a DIFFERENT client. I am quite confident that he has violated the attorney's code of ethics--assuming he is one, of course. I guess the question is whether he has violated an ethical rule by just making this threat, or if the violation would only come when carrying it out.
