Anyone feel Nellie is trying to accommodate Webber a little too, much? Biedrins has been solid all season and tonight he comes off the bench with Webber starting at the center spot. Without a defensive presence in the paint the Wizards dropped 37 points in the 1st quarter and haven't looked back. Brendan Haywood has gone 6-6 from the field and the Wizards have the confidence to win this game now. The Rockets won tonight and have now passed the Warriors up by a 1/2 game in the standings running off 8 straight victories. The Kings have also been playing a lot better and the Warriors are about to lose another tough home game.
Don Nelson... sometimes he's just crazy. He knows webber isn't in game shape to play the defense we need in order to compete and he knows we like to run. I mean, our defense isn't that good compared to last season and that has really been the step-back this year. So if we play halfcourt a lot with Webber, we have to fix our perimeter D. We lost Jrich at SG and I think Jrich plays much better defense than the undersized Ellis at the two or Azubuike at the 3. I felt Jrich's experience and effort into the game really does more to affect the defense than it does now (even with Jrich's lateral slowness against 2's and weakness against 3's). Webber did provide some nice minutes though. I'm more concerned about some of these terrible calls by the referees. They are just plain inconsistent calls. What's a charge one way isn't a charge on the other. There were instances were guys weren't establishing position and they were going over people's backs on the defensive rebounds and stepping in front of guys already on their way to the basket. If the Warriors do that on the other side, the refs call a foul. I know it's hard to make split second calls, but it's like the refs are punishing the warriors for making them run hard. Harrington is doing a nice job coming off the bench, but sometimes I wish he'd play more cautiously like how Biedrins does it. Harrington is not a good finisher inside and he tries to go for dunks rather than the layups. I mean as a role player, better to play it high % rather than go for the spectacular low % play. Then earlier Baron Davis fouled a 3 point shooter twice in a row... So many mistakes on the Warriors defense. 6 point game and Monta just gave himself a 3 point play opportunity, so we'll see how this turns out. But I wouldn't be surprised if the Warriors lost by a close margin after all that effort because of how they played earlier on the defensive side.
HOLY FUCKING SHIT JACKSON JUST MADE A FT, MISSED A FT, WE GOT THE O REBOUND AND HE MADE A 3!!!!11111!!!!! We're up 2. Jesus Christ. Worse for your health: heroine or being a Warriors fan?

This sucks being a Warriors fan because it can cause premature heart attacks. All that strain of too many nail biters...
Holy shit. This was an ugly one but I'll take it. On the bright side: - We won. - Baron appeared to get back on track in the second half. - Al had another good game. Hes adjusting nicely to being a 6th man. - Monta kept it going with 22 points on 50% shooting. - Jack was a stud. Hes a tough SOB and playing great since he got over that nagging injury that hamperred him through January. Downside: - We need a miraculous comeback to beat the Wiz without Gilbert or Caron. - Another scrub has a career night. - Webber didn't do much again. His defensive rebounding looked good though and he had a nice finish on the inside to show he can still get it done in traffic down there. Still has awesome hands. Can't defend the rim at all and doesn't go for offensive rebounds. We stole one tonight, but you kind of knew the whole way that we would eventually make a good run at it. We played HORRIBLE defense in the first half but even so they were drilling everything. Also there was that stretch of downright atrocious calls by the refs. You knew they would cool down and the calls would even out eventually. They did. Jackson was huge in the 4th again, you can see why hes a champion.
Hey Shape, didn't your Lakers come back from down 28 points in the fourth one year against the Mavs? Anyway I looked it up in google. Apparently the Jazz came back from down 34 against Denver, and there was a mention of Boston coming back from 46 points. Not sure if the latter is true though. But yeah, I think they need to play Biedrins more. No defense with Webber, and if he's not contributing on offense, might as well play Biedrins.
Geez... We all know that playing well in 4th quarter is the most important thing, and this team certainly knows how to do so but... Doing the work early won't hurt as well. Seems like almost every game, this team is down big in 1st half, only make a mad come back in 4th quarter to win by two pts. It felt like Davis' soul was stripped after he didn't become an All-Star. Hope he starts to play better soon. For Webber thing... I guess I don't mind too much that he gets playing time right now. Certainly, he is not helping, and his present may hurt the team in short run. But, we definitely need some help, and if Webber can be that help, I don't mind too much about investing around 12 mins per game...
Interesting stat to track ... <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Nelson experimented with his third lineup in as many games since Webber was activated, replacing Harrington at power forward with Matt Barnes. "Now we've all gotten a chance to start," Harrington said, referring to himself, Barnes and center Andris Biedrins. It was the Warriors' 17th lineup of the season, meaning they're still not even halfway to last year's total of 36.</div> Nellie is a mad scientist with his rotations.

Sometimes the simple view makes the most sense
