<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The stop in Charlotte on Day 13 of the nine-game, 16-day trip started out as nothing unusual until Lakers radio analyst Mychal Thompson pulled a bone-head move that had everyone with the Lakers laughing and killing him.

The word came down that Thompson checked out of the team's hotel Monday afternoon and brought his bags to the arena, obviously thinking the Lakers were leaving after the game for Minneapolis.

Thompson asked one of his co-workers, ``Where did you put your bags?'' He replied, ``In my room.''

Imagine Thompson's surprise. The Lakers weren't leaving until Tuesday morning for Minneapolis. They don't play the Timberwolves until Wednesday. We all know that Thompson is from Minneapolis and wanted to get there a soon as possible.

But come on, man, it was eight degrees in Minneapolis Monday and it is going to be 13 when we arrive Tuesday. Like everyone else, I was in no rush to get to that frigid city.

Now Thompson, being the funny man that he is, claimed not to have checked out of his hotel. No one believed him. In fact, many hoped that wasn't the case and that he wouldn't be able to get a room later Monday night.

``That's Ok,'' Thompson told me. ``I'll just bunk with you.''

Thompson then claimed that he just left his key in his room and would ask for another.

``Yeah, I feel like an idiot,'' Thompson said, smiling. ``But I feel like that once a day.''

I didn't argue with him on that (LOL).

Thompson had one last thing to say to me.

``Wait a minute, BT,'' Thompson began. ``How did you find out? Man, who ratted me out?''

    I wouldn't tell him.

I just told him I was looking for blog material and he just provided it with his ``You Big Dummy'' thing.

Being the good sport that he is, Thompson just smiled and pushed me away.

    ``Whatever, BT,'' Thompson said.</div>
