WOW, all 10 teams with a winning record at of at least 6 games over .50, yet 2 of them are not even in the playoff picture if it starts today. Unbelievable!!! Amazing how much the Westtern teams dominate the league over the years and still haven't show sign of weaken down despite the East got a bit better. Houston has a 11 games over .50 and they won't make the playoff? It's not even fair! 1. Phoenix 36-15 2. New Orleans 34-15 3. Dallas 34-17 4. Utah 33-19 5. L.A. Lakers-34 17 6. San Antonio-33 17 7. Denver 31-19 8. Golden State-31 20 9. Houston 31-20 10. Portland 28-23
Its usually like this... The west is generally a strong conference but the East somehow, often comes up with the best team... Like Detroit, Boston, MJ's bulls...
Just few days ago, all 8 WC PO teams are over .600. Now, 9th seed Houston are also over .600 and has better record than Orlando. In the mean time, Portland lost 3 straight games, and they seem so far from making PO. West has dominated East for more than 10 years, and the gap is not decreasing by any stretch of imagination. Maybe, it's time to redesign PO structure...
Meanwhile, the 21-30 Indiana Pacers, who have lost 14 of their last 20 games, are just 1 game behind New Jersey for the 8th seed. After that giant streak Portland went through, where they won 16 of 17 games or something ridiculous like that, I said that I still wasn't sold on them making a playoff appearance. I don't think they'll make it this year, although I'd love to see them there.
Wow. You know what happens? Somehow, all the good GM's go to the Western teams. And all of the shittiest GM's end up in the East. Case in point: Atlanta, New Jersey, Orlando, New York, Cleveland, Indiana, Chicago, Milwaukee, Charlotte, Philly. That's way too many Eastern teams with dumbass GM's who, in some cases, don't know how to make a good core, or in other cases, how to build upon a great core. I'll give Philly a pass, though, because they actually got rid of their crappy GM and are seemingly rebuilding. Meanwhile, in the West, the only dumb GM's are: Memphis, Houston, Minnesota, Sacramento, and LA Clips. All other GM's know exactly what their team needs to win, and are building those teams great. and in Houston's case - I don't even know. With all those not-so-great players surrounding Yao, Tmac, and with Battier having a shitty season, I honestly have to chalk it up to Yao, Tmac and Adelman being miracle workers.
