<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>As hard as the Nets are trying to trade Kidd, they are devoting nearly as much attention to shopping Vince Carter. One prominent player agent, who did not want to be identified, said a Carter-Jermaine O'Neal swap -- with the Nets tossing in an additional piece -- would be the likeliest endgame if the Pacers are unable to find a preferable deal for a young prospect and expiring contracts.</div>

[IMG] Trade deadline countdown: Who could be dealt next? - Chris Sheridan - ESPN

I think this would be a great deal for us. We get the big man we need, and have a very, very good five (if Kidd stays):

    Pg-Kidd
    Sg-Wright
    Sf-Jefferson
    Pf-O'Neal
    C-Kristic

We could go far in the playoffs with this team.

Anyone think Thorn is dumb enough to do a Sean Will/Carter for O'Neal?

It could pay off...but to me, it seems more like a sideways move than anything. Unless, of course, we're trading Jermaine somewhere else.

I'm almost expecting that to happen. Unfortunately :\

You guys seem to be putting this trade down a lot. Why? He will be the guy who we could throw the ball down to him in the post and score. This will give us the inside game we have lacked for a long time now.

LOL ok, now we trade for J.O? Now that we got Boone /Williams doing well, no Jason Collins, The Sto Show's studying his Nets flash cards, and Curly is somewhat back from the dead. Hell, even Carter's got a pulse again?

Now we make the J.O trade? Reeely???

I'm glad this will not happen.

Yeah. We're not all too high on Jermaine O'neal. He's not exactly the type of player we'd like.

Btw, Welcome to S2! Sorry I didn't say welcome earlier, haha. PM me if you have any questions.

why do we need a broken down, injury prone player for? I'd be surprised if he has 3 more years left in the league.

I doubt that, hes only 29.

There's no denying his best years are behind him, though. I'd prefer to watch our young guys get some PT, rather than have JO and his massive contract eating up their time.

There is no way we are trading Williams. Thorn is not a idiot.

Welcome to S2, Richard Jefferson! If you have any questions, lemme know.

Depends on what Sactown wants. My guess is that they wouldn't want Carter, so that probably wouldn't happen. But hey, ya never know.

Carter+Magloire works but I'm not sure I want JON in the condition that he is now. Carter is also playing well as of late (for the past two games, anyway), perhaps he was awakened by that elbow to the face? If Thorn somehow gets JON without losing the "big three" I would love him long time but alas, the numbers just do not work [IMG]

Boy I don't know, Sac's having their first horrid attendance year. Bring in a dazzler like VC.....the Maloofs are business men first and foremost, who knows, Thorn should sell him, bypass Petrie and get the Maloof's ear. I'd probably think they want a pick back, and send back a hefty contract, SAR or Moore. Artest is making what 6.5 this season?

Do not be suprised if we part with Josh Boone, Pacers have to demand a young good player. Indiana's Ike Diogu experiment hasn't been that sucessful we all know, Thorn isn't going to trade Williams for nothing

Why acquire a broken down PF who has 3 years left on a MAX contract...at 19.7M this year 21.2M next year and 23M 2009/2010.

Yes, you might say he is 29, but dont forget he has been in this league for 12 years....

since 2004 thru this all star break he has missed a total of 100 games.

say what you want about Vince Carter but only missed 13 games in the same time span...

and everyone seems to forget Vince doesnt have a MAX contract....and has a team option for the 5th which is only partially guaranteed.

    NO GO FOR THIS TRADE!
