Seeing as we look like a playoff team and are probably gonna keep Kidd I figure its time for one last push.
I see are biggest weakness being a shooter and Mike Miller is available.

    Trade.

Also send a 2009 first round pick.

Memphis wants to reduce payroll so we send them expiring contracts and a first for a guy who can be our Manu Ginobili...a true sixth man who stretches the defense.

    Our lineup post trade:

    PG: Jason Kidd, Marcus Williams
    SG: Vince Carter, Mike Miller
    SF: Richard Jefferson, Boki Nachbar
    PF: Nenad Krstic, Sean Williams
    C: Josh Boone, Stromile Swift

Say what you want but this team is deep, athletic and can shoot the ball...personally I think they'd surprise people come playoff time when Carter and Kidd turn there games up, Nenad and Stromile get more acclimated and the team becomes more cohesive.

Flame me if you want but there would definately be potential for lightening in a bottle come playoff team with a roster like that.

wow, that roster on paper looks damn good.. memphis gets what they want, expiring contracts... doesn't seem too ridiculous to me.

I'm for the trade if it could happen too. Thorn doesn't look like he's anywhere close to dealing any part of the big3, so we should just try to go for it. No use in going in as 7th or 8th seed to lose, and get a not so good pick in the late teens...

This trade would be excellent. We get rid of an inconsistent Wright; MIller is certainly an upgrade over him. And we get rid of expendable, old guys that we can live without.

I hope Thorn reads this and gives Memphis a call [IMG].

Actually I'm all for that. I wasn't really into trading for Miller when it was proposed in one of the lets blow up the team threads but i think this trade makes a lot of sense if we'rot disbanding the big three.

A few threads ago I did a very similar trade. It's EXACTLY what the team needs and it must get done!!

Aren't we allowed to go over the cap resigning our players?

I'd start Miller over Vince. let him rest the ankle more, plus Kidd/Miller/Jefferson/Krstic/Boone would fit well together. And Vince could bring a big spark off the bench with Sean, and remember when he came off the bench earlier this season? We didn't lose a game.

It's an awesome trade for the Nets, but I don't see Memphis doing it.
Mike Miller is in high demand and they can probably get a 2nd tier young player + expiring contracts for him.
Unfortunately, the Net's only second tier young players are MWill and Boone.
Boone should be nearly untouchable and Memphis has a glut at the PG.

We'd be sending them a 2009 first rounder...considering they only got 2 1sts, Crittenton and expiring contracts for Gasol I would think expiring contracts and a first should be enough for Miller. However I wouldn't be adverse to throwing in another pick...if it was really necessary.

it the team is around .500 and out of the playoffs early again, are the people with the money going to want to go over it?

I like the trade, but it shoots you over the lux tax next season.....unless Thorn has a Big 3 trade in the making during the offseason. It's great for the team on the floor, but money wise in 2009, it would suck, assuming we reup Krstic.

Well Miller would be a very tradeable player in the offseason if it became an issue. Also Kidd could be traded then.

Mike Miller already scores more than our entire bench does haha.
