Now that Kidd has been traded to the West and he was voted by the fans to start in East, what will happen now“ Do you guys think he will still start for the East? Will he join the Western conference roster but not start?

You're supposed to move w/ your votes if traded pre-asg. -Petey

this happened in the NHL a few years ago with Sandis Ozolinsh , i forget what happened though, ill try to find the info

found on RealGM and sounds exactly of what i remember <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (yucatan87)</div><div class='quotemain'>The precedent was set in the NHL in 2003. The Florida Panthers were the host team of the all-star game. 3 days before the game, they traded their only all-star representative Sandis Ozolinsh to Anaheim (A Western Conference team). Ozolinsh went to the skills competition wearing a generic jersey, not his team jersey like all the other players. He still played on the Eastern team in the all-star game, but was introduced as a Anaheim Mighty Duck.</div>
Kidd is off the east, can't be wearing all star garb with Nets symbol on the uni. Don't know if he gets to sit with the west though. AI lost his east votes a year ago, finished 3rd in the western guard race. in checking the votes. Kidd finishes 2nd in the west if the votes transfer, bumping AI.......the plot thickens.

Chauncey will start if they move Kidd to the West, no doubt and you gotta think Jose will get the nod, just because of another PG getting in, Turkoglu will get snubbed again because he's a forward and i could see Allen there too, but it depends if they want another PG

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Universe @ Feb 13 2008, 03:48 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>So Kidd kicks someone off the team? Ouch.</div> Assuming kidd starts, AI goes to the bench (or even if Kidd goes to the bench and AI still starts), that would give the west 13 players. Maybe they east picks up a player to replace Kidd, and then another extra so its 13 vs 13. I can't see them kicking someone off the team, and I can't really see them letting one team have more players on it.
Ray Allen would be put into the starting lineup if Kidd moves over b/c Allen had the next highest total of votes for guards in the east. Guards: Dwyane Wade (Mia) 1,608,260; Jason Kidd (NJ) 1,246,386; Ray Allen (Bos) 1,061,740 Obviously the east would get to choose another player to match the West's 13... BTW, Caron isn't playing in the game either, so it looks like the East will have to add 2 additional players, assuming this is the case...
