the only bad thing I saw from Harris was last year when Balkman baptized him, but he is a more valuable player than Naldo will ever be.

Devin Harris = Tony Parker speed + Kidd's 3 pt. range + A.I.'s early athleticism

Yep, like I said earlier, his lack of passing isn't so big a deal with a player like Vince. To be a really effective combo though, Harris would need a jumpshot. But I'll take what we can get.

I say we trade him to the clips for Brand. Clips like to invest in PGs, so a deal of harris + fillers in the summer for brand would be pretty sweet.

Harris, Stackhouse and either Boone/Sean(cry)/Swift for Brand!

Even without a great PG, a trio of Carter/Jefferson/Brand could compete with Boston's trio.

    EDIT:

Looks like if we wait till next year, Harris + Swift can be traded to Brand. This year Harris is on rookie salary so it'd be too hard to match up.

Harris has some potential, perhaps an allstar eqse potential but he would need to improve his shooting by a great deal.

    The pluses:
    Quick
    Good slasher
Good defender(really pesky at times and his man defense is good)
As cpaw stated: he could be a valuable trade chip

    The minuses:
    Poor shooter
    Has been injured this season

    The in-between:
    Average court-vision.

Harris is BYC next year. So Harris for Brand straight up might work...don't quote me on that, tho, I'm not 100% sure.

Oh, and would Harris's defense be comparable to Darrell's defense?

Darrel is more pesky so he annoys the ball-handler.
Harris can guard point guards and shooting guards. Not as "pesky" as Armstrong is though.

We need to also remember that Dallas runs a TON of isos these days and that surely lowered his assist numbers. Additionally the Mavs are one of the slowest teams in terms of pace and they really don't let Harris run the show all that often. Just felt like someone should defend the guy cause I think he has pretty good upside.

Run BJM's official scouting report on Devin Harris:

Tall and athletic for a PG. Has very nice quicks, not elite level like a Parker, Monta Ellis, etc. but just a notch below. Has a very nice handle and gets into the paint well. Decent finisher around the rim. Hes not a pure PG like a Kidd or Nash but he can manage a game just fine and run a team. Defensively hes very solid, fundamentally sound, moves his feet well, hes long, but he is pretty weak (look what Baron Davis did to him in the playoffs).

That being said, he flops like a bitch ALL THE TIME. I would say hes as bad as Ginobili, maybe even worse as far as flopping and cheap ass p*ssy moves are concerned. He doesn't have a reputation as a dirty player but having seen a ton of him over the last two years as a W's fan I'd say hes pretty sketchy. When the refs aren't calling the flop (i.e. playoffs, late in games, etc.) he can look really bad because thats half of his defense. His 3 point shot is inconsistent, hes improved upon it to the point where defenders can't leave him wide open there but his outside shooting still isn't a major concern for the defense. He whines like a bitch to the refs constantly.

Youtube isn't working for me right now or else I would show you a video of him pulling a bitch move on Jason Richardson. He steals the ball from J-Rich, takes it up for a layup, which Richardson blocked cleanly, but when you see the replay from another angle you can see when Harris had his shot swatted he wrapped his arm around J-Rich's waist and took him down while they were both in mid-air. Extremely dangerous and you could tell J-Rich was furious after the play whilst Harris lay on the floor pretending to be injured (believe it or not I've seen him fake more injuries than Vince Carter. He lays on the floor for 2 minutes like he just got a left hook from Lennox Lewis then gets up and shows no signs of legitimate injury).

I think Nets fans are going to be quite happy with Harris. He's certainly not going to put the team over the top, but he's also not going to decline rapidly while making a massive salary.

Meanwhile, the Dallas fans will be gloating about triple-doubles while their team falters in the playoffs.

    LOL

To be honest, I'm happier in the lottery than with that sleazy scum-sucking, woman-groping bastard at the team. I like to be able to cheer for the players.

    LMAO, I so agree.

And I was really liking RJ, and now there's this crap about choking. When the facts come to light on that one, I hope it's not as bad as it sounds.
