Assuming the deal goes through, will you guys pull for Mavs to win it all?
I now will. Even though Dirk is "vagina" like some poster on youtube suggested, I just want Kidd to get his ring.

i dont want kidd to get a ring. he whines, complains and wants out at the first bad sign. if he quietly went up to thorn and told him he wanted to leave then i'll congratulate him but he went on strike, demanded out, compained non stop and it wa sall about the money for him

I'll root for them this season to win it all since it is safe to say the Nets wont make it (this season). [IMG]
I mean when the playoffs are around and if the Nets are not in it, I need a team to root for temporarily to kill boredom. [IMG]

Nope. There's only one team I'm rooting for to win it all, regardless if I think they've got any chance of doing so.

Lol this is the similar position that Toronto was in 4-5 years ago.
Except Kidd didn't bitch as much and you guys actually had some basketball players in return.

Ever since Cuban started to act up, I've grown to dislike the Mavs, so no.

As long as the Nets have the Mavs pick, why would you root for the Mavs?

No way I'd ever root on any team Kidd is on. I dunno about the rest of you but when a player making max money demands a trade and tries to force his way out, I take that as a slap in the face as a fan. I hope Kidd gets trounced in the playoff this year and has many losing seasons in later years. I can't stand players that feel their entitled to anything more than whatever is written on their contract and I can't sympathize either.

I'm going to guess that you're wrong about that. Regardless, Vince was what--26 when that went down? Kidd is 35. There's nothing wrong with holding older, more experienced people to a higher, less rash standard.

why should I root for the Mavs? they have just a good chance of winning as we do, with or without Kidd either way.

Hahaha, yep, no doubt, root for team playing against the Mavs the rest of this year...2008 pick and in the 2009-2010 season.......I think the pick is set regardless of postseason finish. So the Mavs pick could actually be 17th and they can still win the championship.

For many years, on the court, Kidd exemplified what professional basketball should be in my opinion.
All out hustle, a pure desire to win, and a team first attitude.

His presence could provide some entertaining basketball.
However the off court problems, his antics this season, etc make it impossible for me to hope he fulfills his personal goal of a championship.

He's an entertaining player to watch, but I feel no pain knowing his persona has moved on.

So I will probably watch their games, but root for Dallas? No.

And if Dallas wins it all, the media will of course say "Future Hall of Famer finally gets long deserved championship" ...
Things like that will only feed the entitlement complex of aging stars in the future, and it makes me sick.
