It's interesting to note that Malik Allen and Maurice Ager have roughly the same salary, and didn't have to be included in the deal. So why were they? Probably because, without their inclusion, the Mavs would be short big men (losing Diop), and the Nets would be short swingmen (losing Wright), and exchanging them will help both rosters become more balanced. Still, though, it's interesting to note that the Nets would be getting even more athletic through this swap. By focusing on the swap of Collins and Malik Allen for Swift and Ager, it's even clearer that the Nets are attempting to improve their athleticism. Even if you match up Wright with Ager (and Allen with Diop), you're still improving in that area.

Does anyone doubt that Magloire will be gone by next week?

Magloire is a goner for sure. Glad we are moving in this direction.

I really wished we traded Darrell for Barea or something because Darrell deserves to be on a winning team.
